Norwegian Viva Cancels Inaugural Sailings

A letter from Norwegian Cruise Lines was just sent to all cruisers booked on their ship set to sail in July 2023, the Norwegian Viva, sister ship to the Prima. The letter states that sailings from July 3, 2023 through August 17, 2023 on The Viva have been canceled due to supply chain issues.

This is the second ship in as many years from Norwegian that has been affected in this way. The Prima, had to cancel its inaugural sailings this year due to the same issues. Norwegian just took delivery of The Prima on July 29. The Prima will be the first major cruise ship christened in Iceland.

Guests scheduled to sail on the Viva for the canceled dates have two options. They can sail on a comperable itinerary aboard the Breakaway Class, Norwegian Getaway at a 20% discount of the amount paid.

The other option is to rebook on a different sailing of the Viva after August 17, 2023. Guests who are looking to use this option must do so by September 2, 2023. Guests can call 1-800-327-7030 or www.ncl.com or can work their travel advisor.

Once the original reservation is canceled, guests will receive a full refund for the fair paid on the original form of payment. Guests who do not contact NCL will automatically have their cruise rebooked on the Norwegian Getaway.

Additionally, all affected guests will receive a 10% discount on their next Norwegian cruise between August 28, 2023 and December 31, 2024 and a 10% discount on their latitudes account.
