Disney to Begin Discussions With Unions on Mandatory Vaccine

The Walt Disney Company announced Friday that they would be requiring all salaried and non-union castmembers with the company to provide proof of vaccination within 60 days. That puts us right at the beginning of the 50th Anniversary celebration at Walt Disney World. A time when thousands of Disney fans will descend on the parks to celebrate.

In addition, Disney relayed to castmembers that conversations are underway with unions regarding mandatory COVID-19 vaccines.

Disney is one of the largest and most influential employers in the world. This would be a monumental step by a high profile company to require every employee be vaccinated.

Unite Here Local 362 president Eric Clinton spoke to the Orlando Sentinel and stated that union members support everyone getting the vaccine.


Other Orlando area theme parks have recommended that guests wear masks indoor while Disney announced a return to mandatory mask wearing inside on Disney property. The mandatory masks were reinstated as of July 30 and apply to every guest and castmember over the age of 2 regardless of vaccination status.
