BREAKING NEWS! Masks Once Again Required at Disneyland and Walt Disney World

Disney has made some changes to their mask policies that will affect both coasts.

With the recent drastic uptick in COVID-19 cases due to lack of vaccinatons and unvaccinated people not following mask rules, Disney has made some strong changes to their policies in order to protect the health and safety of guests and castmembers.

As of July 30, face coverings will once again be required in all indoor locations at Walt Disney World Resort and at Disneyland. This is required for both vaccinated and non-vaccinated guests.

“We are adapting our health and safety guidelines based on guidance from health and government officials, and will require Cast Members and Guests ages 2 and up, to wear face coverings in all indoor locations at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort beginning Friday, July 30, regardless of vaccination status. At Walt Disney World Resort, this includes upon entering and throughout all attractions and in enclosed transportation vehicles, including shuttles, buses, monorails and at Disney Skyliner.”

Face Coverings

Beginning July 30, face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) while indoors and in Disney buses, monorail and Disney Skyliner, regardless of vaccination status. This includes upon entering and throughout all attractions. Face coverings remain optional for all Guests in outdoor common areas. This would include the hub, Main Street, Disney Springs streets, parking lots etc.

Face Covering Requirements

  • Be made with at least 2 layers of breathable material
  • Fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin
  • Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
  • Be secured with ties or ear loops and allow the Guest to remain hands-free

Face coverings should not contain valves, mesh material or holes.

Costume masks are not considered appropriate and are prohibited from being worn, in alignment with our existing rules.

Face coverings may have an integrated transparent plastic panel to aid in viewing the wearer’s mouth. These face coverings should:

  • Be a fabric face covering featuring a solid plastic panel containing no openings that is attached to the fabric on all sides using tight knit stitching
  • Meet all face covering requirements listed above
