Summer is in full swing and people are once again flocking to Walt Disney World and soon to be Disneyland (for those out of state visitors).
Summer is an entirely different beast, especially at Walt Disney World and we have compiled a list of Disney trip must haves to make your trip the best ever.
Apply before you put on clothes, on inner thighs, around (sports) bra, wherever skin is sensitive to rubbing. I use this every single day we are in the parks except when there is little to no humidity in December and January. THis stuff is magical and is made in a male and female formula. Chafing can truly ruin your day. I keep one in the room and one in my park bag. We cannot recommend this highly enough for your trip.
It’s hot in Disney y’all. If you are coming from a place where humidity isn’t a thing it can really affect you. Even if you are used to humidity, all day in the ht, humid, crowded parks can do a number on you. These neck fans are a joy. We have had ours for a couple of years now and they are amazing. They really help to cool you off and stave off the horrible heat and humidity above the neck.
This is our secret weapon in Disney. Blisters happen, cuts happen, and wod welder can help heal them. If you run your foot raw on day 2, you have a whole trip to go and WOD Welder is the best thing on the market to heal cuts and raw spots up fast. It’s designed for rips from Crossfit and fitness movements. It heals so quickly. We simply slather a thick layer on at night or even during the day with a bandage and you will notice a difference in hours not days.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. We hate to be the bearer of bad news but filling up on soda and vitamin water with your resort refillable mug isn’t going to do the trick. Especially in the heat of the summer… which lasts most of the year in Florida, you need serious hydration. These bottles keep water cold for hours. Typically, we keep one in our park bag during not-so-scorching months and two during the really warm times.
These bottles don’t leak, don’t sweat and keep water really cold. You need these in Disney.
You have to protect your face from the sun. If you know me or follow us on any of our socials you know I love the sun. But, I protect my face because I don’t want to look twice my age. This sunscreen is great. It doesn’t sweat off the face, is lightweight and can go on over or under your sunscreen. Not only that but it is reef safe so if you are hitting the beach, it’s great for you and the sea. Sun Bum is our favorite sunscreen.
People forget to protect their lips from the sun and the elements but sun bum is an SPF sunscreen lip balm that works great. We definitely recommend the three pack. Keep a couple in your park bag and one in your room or pool bag.
The parks have sanitizer everywhere but we always keep these on us and on our park bag. When we get off attractions, before we eat, after we eat, it’s really important to keep your hands sanitized and these are the best there are. They are hydrating instead of drying and work so well.
We like to keep a hand sanitizer on our park bag and this allows us to keeo the Grove ones on there instead of a drying, alcohol scented version. You have to try these. You won’t go back.
Yep! More SunBum! We love a spray sunscreen more than a cream. Just like with many of our other products we keep one in our park bag and one in the room that we can take to the pool and use before we head out.
These are great to wipe the sweat (sounds gross but this is reality). It’s also great for after rides like Kali River Rapids and Splash Mountain. You want to keep as cool and comfortable as possible and these fit perfectly inside your park back. They fold up and are very easy to transport. We recommend a few each day, you don’t want to use the same nasty towel multiple days.
You have to have comfy shoes and sometimes you don’t want tennis shoes. In fact, I don’t like wearing tennis shoes in the parks. I love having comfy sandals especially because it’s going to rain… everyday and you don’t want to be stuck in soggy tennis shoes. Don’t go to Disney without a pair of comfy sandals.
Last but certainly not least, an umbrella. Keep an umbrella in your park bag at all times. We always keep umbrellas and single-use ponchos because they are absolutely necessary. These become very compact and fit well in a medium sized backpack.
There you have it! These are our summer must haves for a trip to Disney, especially Walt Disney World. These will help you keep the magic going and have the most wonderful vacation at the House of Mouse.
