The Disney Cruise Line Website has been updated as of April 23 to include COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements.
These specific requirements are for the cruises currently set to sail out of the UK with no port destinations.
These guidelines have not at this time been specified for cruises setting sail out of US ports but are likely to be similar if not exactly what will be required for initial cruises out of US ports.
As of April 23, 2021 Disney Cruise Line will require all passengers age 18+ be fully vaccinated for the COVID-19 vaccine prior to boarding a Disney Cruise ship. Fully vaccinated means that all adults must have received the vaccine seven days prior to embarkation day. Prior to sailings, Disney will inform guests how to show proof of vaccine.
COVID-19 Vaccination: In order to sail, Guests 18 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as defined by the National Health Service (NHS). The NHS currently defines “fully vaccinated” as 7 days after the final dose. Disney Cruise Line will contact Guests prior to sailing with instructions on how to show proof of this vaccination status.Disney Cruise Line
Proof of Negative Test
For all guests age 18 and younger they must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test that will not be paid for by Disney Cruise Line. The test must be taken between 5 days and 24 hours prior to embarkation day.
Disney did say that they have secured a discounted testing rate through a third-party vendor for the tests. Disney also says, they will contact guest prior to sailing with instructions on how to get and submit test results. Guests do not have to use the vendor secured by Disney for the test but proof will be required for all those 18 and younger prior to boarding.
Pre-Trip COVID-19 Testing: Guests under 18 years of age are not required to be vaccinated, but must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result (paid for by the Guest) taken between 5 days and 24 hours prior to the date you set sail. Disney Cruise Line has secured a special discounted rate through a third-party vendor for PCR tests and will contact Guests prior to sailing with instructions on how to complete and submit their test results. Guests may obtain their PCR test from the third-party vendor or any qualified testing supplier.Disney Cruise Line
Additional COVID-19 Testing
In addition to being fully vaccinated, ALL guests will undergo an antigen COVID-19 rapid test prior to boarding and show proof of a negative result. Anyone who tests positive for the virus will undergo a second rapid test in order to verify the results. These tests will be administered at the embarkation terminal for the ship on the day of embarkation and will be paid for by Disney Cruise Line not the cruise guest.
Disney does state that any guest who tests positive for COVID-19 AND their entire travel party will be denied boarding for the cruise.
Disney Cruise Line wil require face masks on ALL Disney sailings. Face masks must be warn by all guests age 11 and older at all times except when dining, swimming or in your stateroom. Face coverings must cover the guests nose and mouth at all times.
Disney recommends that guests between the ages of 3 and 11 also wear face coverings.
Guests can remove face masks when actively eating or drinking or when taking a photo outside. For those photos Disney asks that guests remain social distanced.
Face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 11 and up) and Crew Members, including those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine. Please bring your own face coverings and wear them at all times, except when dining, swimming or in your stateroom. You may temporarily remove your face covering while actively eating, drinking or taking an outdoor photo, but you must be stationary and maintain appropriate physical distancing during this time. It is recommended that children ages 3 to 10 wear a face covering at all times except in designated locations. All face coverings should fully cover an individual’s nose and mouth and allow the Guest to remain hands-free; fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face; be secured with ties or ear loops; and be made of breathable material, either disposable or reusable. At this time based on guidance from health authorities, neck gaiters, open-chin triangle bandanas and face coverings containing valves, mesh material or holes of any kind are not acceptable face coverings.Disney Cruise Line
Disney recommends that guests check all luggage. Luggage will go through a sanitization process prior to being placed on the cruise ship.
Port Arrival Times
To aid with physical distancing in the terminal and reduce the time needed to board the ship, all guests are required to select a port arrival time. Guests should complete their Online Check-In and select a required port arrival time at home.
Please note: All Guests and Castaway Club Members—including Platinum Members—are required to select a port arrival time before making their way to the cruise terminal. For the health and well-being of everyone, Guests are not permitted at the terminal or in parking areas before their scheduled port arrival time.Disney Cruise Line
Disney also recommends that guests download the Disney Cruise Line app in advance of sailing to receive the most up to date information on their cruise.
This sections is currently updated for UK cruises but are expected to also be the policies and procedures all initial Disney Cruise Line sailings.
We believe this will be for ALL Disney Cruise Line sailings initially. These updates are not permanent and will be evolving as the world wide situation evolves.
Currently all Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy and Disney Wonder departures through June 2021 and Disney Magic sailings through October 9 are suspended.
