Avengers Will Soon Assemble at the Avenger’s Campus

Avenger’s Assemble! It will soon be time to party with the Avenger’s at the brand new Avenger’s Campus at Disney California Adventure.

Josh D’Amora announced Thursday at a press conference that Avenger’s Campus will open to the public on Friday, June 4, just two days after Marvel’s Kevin Feige’s birthday.

“What I can tell you is, it’s awesome,” Josh D’Amaro told CNBC ahead of the webcast. “I think it’s going to be an unbelievable addition to California Adventure. If you think about the [Marvel Cinematic Universe] and what’s happening on that front, as recently as ‘WandaVision,’ it’s hot. It’s a hot franchise. And we now have the ability to open this thing up to the world.”

Guests may catch glimpses of their favorite Avenger’s like Black Panther, Black Widow and Thor.

The new land will be made up of “several heroic locations, each hosted by a different Avenger to share their unique powers, technology and knowledge with recruits,” according to the Disney Parks blog.

Attactions at Avenger’s Campus include Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! as well as restaurants such as the “Ant-Man”-inspired Pym Test Kitchen. A Spider-Man Aventure will be based on the Worldwide Engineering Brigade aka WEB, a company that helps give regular people super powers. The attraction gives guests the chance to test out their innovative webslinger vehicle. While driving the vehicle little spider bots are let loose and you must snatch them up with your new web-slinging powers.

The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif. will throw open its gates once again on April 30 following over a year of being shuttered. The parks will open at just around 15% capacity.

“We’ve got the ultimate playground for Marvel,” D’Amaro said. “As quickly as Kevin [Feige] and that Marvel team can create characters and create stories, we can integrate them.”

D’Amaro mentioned that other new projects and lands from other Disney parks around the world like Walt Disney World’s Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure ride, Shanghai’s “Zootopia”-themed land and Disneyland Paris’ Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel will soon open to guests as well.
