Disney’s Polynesian Resort at Walt Disney World has been undergoing renovations for several months. Today, we received our first glimpse of the newly renovated rooms inside this island themed paradise.
While there is still a lot of construction going around around the resort including in the Great Ceremonial House which is the main building for the resort.
Disney’s Polynesian is a Deluxe Resort meaning it is in the highest price and amenity tier for Disney vacation properties. It is also a Disney Vacation Club resort.
Disney is giving us our first look at the newly renovated rooms at Disney’s Polynesian Resort and we can feel the island vibes from here.
The color palette for the rooms is inspired by the Pacific Ocean and the Hawaiian islands. You will see touches from Disney’s Moana scattered throughout the resort and in the rooms.
We love the details. The flooring reminds us of ocean waves, the details in the wood work is reminiscent of Maui’s tattoo’s and traditional tattoos from the islands. We even spotted little Pua in there!
You’ll also see all-new furnishings and fixtures. In the bathrooms, for instance, Disney Imagineers took inspiration from the sandy ocean floor for the tiles and carved details in the vanity. The colorful patterns found throughout the room bring a whole new energy to the space, evoking undulating ocean waves and tropical flowers.
Disney Parks Blog provided details into the transformation of the resort and Disney’s creation of the Disney Resorts Collection. Read more on that from Disney Parks Blog below.
