With the recent (sad) announcement that Disney will be discontinuing the ultra-popular and convenient Disney’s Magical Express service has left many guests confused. This service was one of the things that set Disney apart from competitors.
This “free” service was included with all Walt Disney World resort bookings and was the most magical way to start a Walt Disney World vacation. Disney announced that they would no longer offer the service beginning January 2022.
We have learned however, that when Disney Cruise Line starts service again, the Disney Cruise Line Magical Express bus service between Orlando International Airport and Port Canaveral for Disney Cruises will continue.
Disney Cruise Line guests traveling from the airport to Port Canaveral or from a Walt Disney World resort to Port Canaveral will still be able to utilize this service.
Said Disney in a statement,
As previously shared, Disney’s Magical Express will no longer be available as a transportation option between the Walt Disney World Resort and the Orlando International Airport (MCO) beginning in January 2022.
As a result, private transfers will be the only option available to purchase through Disney Cruise Line for Guests who have added pre- and/or post-nights at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel to their cruise reservation. If Guests are not interested in Private Transfers, information on alternative transportation options between the Walt Disney World Resort hotels and the Orlando International Airport can be found at https://orlandoairports.net/parking-transportation/.
Guests may continue to purchase ground transfers through Disney Cruise Line for travel between the Orlando International Airport and Port Canaveral (Airport to Port, Port to Airport) and/or between a Walt Disney World Resort hotel and Port Canaveral (Resort to Port, Port to Resort). As are reminder, Disney’s Magical Express service will continue to operate for arrivals through 2021, including for Guests visiting as part of Disney Land and Sea Packages.
At this time, Disney Cruise Line has canceled all sailings through April and have removed sailings from their website through May 2021. We expect to receive the official cancelation for May sailings in the coming days.
Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
