Project Pan 2021: Products I Love and Want to Use up in 2021

I love new beauty and skincare products. I’m a sucker for them. But, sometimes I get so wrapped up in new products that I already have that I forget about the ones I already have in my collection. They need love too!

2020 saw a shift for me in purchases. With working from home and most of our state closed for the majority of the year, I wasn’t wearing makeup as often. With that, I started purchasing skincare prodcuts and really upped my skincare game.

In the coming year, I hope to continue my new strict skincare routine and I also want to start wearing makeup more. Not because we’re going anywhere. I still work from home but putting a little makeup on makes me feel more pulled together and ready to tackle the day.

I’m going to do an depth dive into my updated skincare routine. WHy I use the products I use, products I’m loving, products I won’t buy again and more but today, we’re doing something a little different.

I’m going into 2021 on a two month no-buy. That means that until March 2, I am not buying anything. No clothes, no makeup, no skincare. Nothing.

What a perfect opportunity to show some love to the amazing products I already have. So, one of my goals is to hit pan on some of my favorite products this year so they truly get the love they deserve.

What exactly is project pan? Hitting pan refers to finishing up a product. I have a love/hate relationship with hitting pan. When I hit pan on my favorite eye shadow in a palette, I tend to lean less on that palette which means I don’t use the other shades… kind of a waste. But, hitting pan or using up skincare is a different story. It really gives you the opportunity to look back and see if the product did what it said and if you saw positive results.

Project Pan is all about reducing waste, saving money and using up the products you’ve purchaed or received to get your money’s worth.

My skincare isn’t just about high end and it isn’t just about more affordable. I splurge. I love splurging on a good products. Even more reason to use it up and see if it was really worth it and should be purchased again.

I have combination skin. My biggest concerns are sun damage from my younger years, anti-aging including a focus on fine lines and wrinkles and brightening. I don’t have breakouts and my skin is not sensitive. Because of that, I lean on a number of different products and don’t use the same thing every day. I rotate my products so my skin doesn’t get bored.

These are the ten skincare products I want to use up in 2021. I’m going to talk about the product, where I purchased and if I want to purchase again as of now.

COOLA Organic Sunless Tan Anti-Aging Face Serum

I discovered Coola in 2019. I love their Sunless Tan Firming Lotion. It’s one of my favorite products especially in the winter. I spray tan year round and this helps to keep my tan even even in the harsh dry winter conditions of Colorado.

This sunless anti-aging serum is perfect for the face. With my skincare routine drastically increased in the last year, my skin pales much quicker as the products I use are designed to thoroughly clean and clear my skin it pulls my spray tan off.

This product helps give me the glow I want year-round and also provides anti-aging properties. I love this serum. I want to finish the current bottle I have in 2021 and will most certainly be repurchasing.

OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright™ Vitamin C Serum

I wanted something to brighten my skin. I was feeling dull and I needed soe oompf. After a little research I found this product and had never tried anything from Olehenricksen before. I have been using it off and on for months. As I mentioned above, I rarely use a product everyday. I look at my skin, see what I don’t like and use a product that aims to fix that. I want to use this more frequently to see if it truly brightens and reduces dark spots and plumps.

I feel it does. I love using it. I love how it makes my skin look. It does leave a but of a tack on my skin. As I’ve said, we live in a very dry climate so that might have something to do with it. But, it does have a lasting feel of tackiness on my skin. Something to consider for yourself. But, I do think it has reduced my dark spots and that it does brighten my skin and even plump it. I want to finish this bottle to see if it is something I will repurchase.

KORA Organics Noni Night AHA Resurfacing Serum

This product introduced me to what skincare and a good routine could do for your skin. My entire adult life, I’ve had great skin. But, I’m not getting any younger. I’ve also done a lot of damage. Sun, more sun and although I should have starte a preventative skincare routine years ago, it’s never too late.

I love the feeling this Kora serum gives my skin. It feel tight and smooth. It’s on the expensive side but worth it for the results I’ve seen so far. My only negative is the scent but it’s not a deal breaker for me. This serum is a powerful certified organic night treatment serum using natural AHAs, BHA, and ferments to help resurface skin—leaving a smooth, refined complexion. I’ve seen results and will be repurchasing.

SUNDAY RILEY Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment

This is a cult favorite. One of the “best” products on the market according to so many people. An all-in-one AHA treatment, powered by lactic acid, that clarifies, smooths, and retexturizes the appearance of skin. I can’t say enough about this product. It visibly reduces lines and wrinkles in front of my eyes.

Built Bar Logo

One of my recent complaints about my skin is that it has lost a lot of the plumpness of youth. I am not against injections or procedures to rectify it but I will also try serum’s and good products to see if that will help. I see a difference in this. I need to use it more frequently in order to be sure but so far so good. I want to finish this bottle and re-evaluate but right now, this is a holy grail for me.

The Ordinary“Buffet” + Copper Peptides 1%

Not all amazing skincare has to break the bank. The Ordinary is a wonderful company providing potent, effective skincare options backed by science. I love this company and I use this serum frequently. I have other products from The Ordinary that I don’t use as much but I truly love this product. For the price and the results, I can’t wait to use this more regularly and see what it can do.

Youth To The PeopleDream Eye Cream with Goji Stem Cell and Ceramides

This was an impulse buy. I’ve never used a Youth to the People product but this one promised to be an overnight eye cream formulated to visibly smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, firm the look of skin, and actively hydrate while you sleep.

My main focus with eye creams is smoothing, firming and reducing lines. The Goji Stem Cells: Support skin renewal to visibly smooth fine lines and wrinkles. That was my push to try this product. I’ve only used it a few times but it has rave reviews and I’m excited to see what it can do when used regularly.

Confidence in a Neck Cream Moisturizer

This particular product has mixed reviews on a number of beauty sites. One thing I’ve noticed in the past year or so is that as I get older, the skin on my neck becomes looser. I’ve tried a couple products but this one seems to actually be working. I use this twice a day on my neck and also down to my collarbone.

I do a firmer appearance and less lines. My goal is have a tighter jawline and tighter skin around my neck. Do I think this is a miracle cream? No But, combined with other things, I think it is working well. I’m excited to use up this entire product and see if I see the results I’m looking for. Stay tuned.

Edible Beauty Deep Sea Collagen Elixir Serum Plump and Refine

I am loving this product. I only use it a couple of times a week but I use it at night and I love how plump and fresh my skin looks in the morning. It feels smoother and it does appear more youthful. I’m about a quarter of the way through the bottle and have a plan to ramp up my usage of this product so I can see if the proof is in the serum with this one. One of my favorite things about this product so far is that it does reduce the appearance of fine lines and brightens the skin.

Primera Black Seed Cold-Brew Serum

This is one popular product. It is currently sold out at Sephora and has been for a few weeks but can be found on Primer’s own website. This is a a highly concentrated, lightweight serum that is infused with antioxidant-rich black rice that addresses visible signs of aging. I love it. It makes my skin feel reviatlized without leaving any sort of heaviness or oilyness on the skin. I see a glow when I use this which is amazing because it’s winter and not much to glow about. This is another holy grail for me and I will absolutely repurchase once gone.

Watermelon Glow PHA+BHA Pore-Tight Toner

I went back and forth about this product… until I bought it. I love Glow Recipe. If you aren’t a fan of scented skincare, this brand is not for you but I love bright, fresh scented products. I have a number of Glow Recipe products and even more on my skincare wishlist. Toner is an often overlooked, essential part of any good skin-care routine. They help prep and plump skin to readily absorb the rest of your routine. This innovative formula contains a balance of hydrating ingredients and pore-tightening actives to equally minimize the look of pores and hydrate skin. If you’re new to the toner game or looking for a gentle yet effective toner to add to your routine I highly recommend this one. And a little goes a long way. No need to overdo it.

So, that’s it. As of right now this is where I stand with Operation Pan 2021 for my skincare products. I hope you got some great ideas to add to your skincare routine.
