Bulloch stepped away from the limelight and conventions he regularly attended in 2018. He posted a message to his fans that year on his official site:

Dear Friends

It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to stop attending conventions and hang up the Fett helmet. It has not been an easy decision to make. In 1979 I was called onto the set of Empire Strikes Back to play Boba Fett, and since that day it has changed the entire direction of my life in such a wonderful way. It has been a privilege to have had the opportunity to inspire so many generations of Star Wars fans. I have had over 20 years of travelling with my wife Maureen to some amazing countries and have met so many wonderful fans. Thank you all so much and we will miss you all.

‘May the Force be with you always’

– Jeremy

Boba Fett was the clone of Jango Fett, the human male Mandalorian bounty hunter whose genetic code spawned and birthed an army of clone troopers during the final years of the Galactic Republic. Within the Star Wars galaxy, Boba Fett is one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy during the reign of the Galactic Empire. Boba Fett was long thought to be dead but has recently resurfaced in The Mandalorian series. The character is being played by a different actor.

Boba Fett is one of the most recognizable names in the Star Wars galaxy. He first appeared in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Bulloch publicly claimed he drew inspiration for the character from Clint Eastwood’s The Man with No Name.

Bulloch is survived by his three sons, ten grandchildren and his wife Maureen. His half-brother is Robert Watts, who was a producer on The Empire Strikes BackReturn of the Jedi and the Indiana Jones films.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
