As we reported, the near future of cruising remains up in the air following an outbreak of COVID-19 on SeaDream 1 which was test sailing the Caribbean.
It appears the future just got a little more clear. Disney Cruise Lines website no longer allows guests to book cruises sailing in January or February 2021.
In addition, Disney Cruise Lines webiste states that
As several companies have fast tracked vaccines for the COID-19 virus that could begin to be distributed as early as December for extremely high-risk and high contact people, cruises could be coming back sooner rather than later.
But, it does look as though it won’t be until late Q1 in 2021 that the Disney Cruise Line and other (Cruise Lines International Association) CLIA companies take back to the seas.
The SeaDream 1 outbreak was telling that companies may need stricter protocols than a single test prior to sailing and for the time being, until a vaccine is widely available, the future of cruising in 2021 remains uncertain.
Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
