The dog days of summer are fast fleeting and fall is upon us. Even though that doesn’t always come with cooler temperatures in Florida, Disney has made the decision to not reopen their water parks until March 2021.
Certain Annual Passholders have water parks included in their passes and they will be refunded a pro rated amount of either $0.27 per day if they are a new Annual Passholder or $0.23 per day if they renewed their current pass.
Platinum Plus and Premier passholders can expect refunds to arrive by “late October through early November.” Other ticket holders impacted by the water park closure will also be given options, including canceling or modifying their tickets.
Disney World said in a message on their website that the plan is to open one of the water parks on March 7, 2021. Either Disney’s Blizzard Beach or Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon will open on that day, pending government approvals.
According to Disney’s website
Like the other areas of Walt Disney World Resort, we will welcome back Guests and Cast Members to our water parks in a responsible way, with a plan focused on health and well-being. We will provide more details on our phased reopening plan, including a decision on the specific water park that will be reopening first, at a later time. This reopening date may change and if it does, we will let Guests know what to expect in a future update.Disney

Other water parks in the area, including Universal’s Volcano Bay and SeaWorld’s Aquatica, are already open with approved health and safety measures in place.
