Charity Spotlight of September: The Gary Sinise Foundation

We have an exciting announcement! After much contemplation and discussion, we are thrilled to announce that every month, we will be featuring a different charitable organization over on our Etsy shop.

This is an exhilerating and empowering decision for us. We have not increased the price of our ears in our shop but have made the decision to keep the prices as is and donate a portion of every single ear sale to a specified charitable organization. It’s important to us to give back and this is a small way in which we are able to do so.

We are proud of our small shop and honored to be able to give back in this way. You can visit our Etsy shop by clicking HERE!

As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands: one is for helping yourself and the other is for helping others.”

It’s important to remember that it isn’t about how much you give, it’s about the act of giving. This is an amazing opportunity for all of us. We are excited to be able to offer you these handmade ears that we take the time to design, craft and create with love just for you and you have the chance to purchase these items and give back at the same time.

September 2020 Spotlight Charity

We will be donating $5 from every pair of ears sold from our shop to The Gary Sinise Foundation for the entire month of September.

About The Gary Sinise Foundation

The Gary Sinise Foundation

Let’s take a look at The Gary Sinise Foundation and the work they do to serve and honor American heroes and their families.

The mission of foundation is to create and support unique programs and opportunities designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen and build communities.

My personal mission is what led to the founding of the Gary Sinise Foundation in 2011, and with the help of supporters like you, we will continue to expand this mission in support of our nation’s defenders, veterans, first responders and their loved ones, while upholding the importance of keeping our country strong by taking care of those who serve. While our programs and projects have certainly made a difference in many lives, there’s much more work to be done.

The R.I.S.E program at The Gary Sinise Foundation refers to Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment. The program focuses on constructing and adapt home for some of the nation’s most severely wounded heroes.

According to, this initiative predominantly supports our Post 9/11 defenders, that were injured in combat operations or during training while performing their duties. These 100% mortgage-free homes ease the daily challenges faced by these heroes and their families who sacrifice alongside them.

Living Libraries

The Gary Sinise Foundation

The Gary Sinise Foundation not only brings WWII veterans to the The National WWII Museum that was built to honor their service and sacrifice but they also take the time to get the stories from these heroes so that their stories and memories can live on. Every veteran is a living library. The organization has partnered with The National WWII Museum to record the individual stories of America’s Greatest Generation and share them with the world. For those who cannot travel, they’re sponsoring a historian to conduct interviews with WWII veterans in the comfort of their homes.

Snowball Express

The Gary Sinise Foundation

The Gary Sinise Foundation Snowball Express serves the children of fallen military heroes. In 2017, Snowball Express became an official Gary Sinise Foundation initiative.

No matter where these families are in the grieving process, the hope is to inspire them to believe anything is possible. By providing guilt-free fun and beneficial resources in a stress-free environment, The Gary Sinise Foundation is creating a community to learn, grow, and make lasting memories with new friends who have similar experiences and who understand what families and individuals are going through.

One of the amazing programs that we bacame familiar with is part of their Snowball Express initiative. The holidays can be especially challenging for grieving families. Each December, the foundation hosts a five-day experience for 1,750+ children of the fallen and their surviving parent or guardian. As a therapeutic retreat with a blend of fun and inspiring programs, these families can lean on their peers for support. This has included all-expense paid trips to places such as Walt Disney World for these families.
