Tokyo Disneyland has announced they will resume nighttime spectaculars on September 1.
One of the biggest holes in Disney magic right now is the removal of nighttime events such as fireworks and parades. Tokyo Disneyland will be the first Disney theme park to resume this beloved activity.
On September 1, Tokyo Disneyland will resume nighttime events and fans are excited. Here is what will return:
Disney Light the Night – Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea’s nighttime fireworks show Disney Light the Night will be performed at 8pm nightly.
Nightfall Glow – Typically shown only during a rainy evening, Nightfall Glow is a mini-parade that will be shown nightly at Tokyo Disneyland at 6:45pm.
Don’t get too excited. Japan has able to get a handle on coronavirus cases while the United States continues to record record numbers of positive cases. We don’t expect nighttime activities to return to Walt Disney World for months. Disneyland has a rumored reopening date in September that Disney has yet to confirm. Japan’s situation is far different than the situation in the United States.
While Japan is looking to expand hours and events, on September 8 Walt Disney World will be decreasing their park hours for every park. Disney has released their park calendars through November and it’s looking as though reduced hours will continue likely through the end of the year. In addition, there are currently no fireworks, parades or character meet and greets at any United States theme park.
Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
