Disney Removes New Disney Vacation Club Resort From Projects List
As Disney continues to reel from financial losses due to the extensive coronavirus closure, perhaps one of the most amazing resort projects Disney has undertaken is the latest casuality.

Following the quarterly earnings call last week where the Walt Disney Company took a $3.5 billion hit to its operating income from parks being closed during the previous quarter, Disney has begun to announce more projects getting the ax as they attempt to put a stop to the financial bleed.

Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge which was scheduled to go where the abandoned River Country Waterpark once was, was announced in 2019 as the latest and greatest Disney Vacation Club resort at Walt Disney World has been removed from the D23 project announcements.

The resort was to bring a love and respect for nature to Walt Disney World. Reflections Lakeside Lodge would boast more than 900 hotel rooms and Disney Vacation Club villas. According to concept art there would be a large statue of Pocahontas standing in grandeur in the center of the lobby.

The project codenamed Project 89 was expected to be tabled following the losses reported by Disney. Disney has made no official announcement of the cancelation and we can only hope that it will be added back to the table once earnings pick up… whenever that may be.
