Are you planning a trip to Walt Disney World? Disney recently announced that select Walt Disney World resorts would reopen on June 22 and that Disney World theme parks would begin a phased reopening on July 11.

There are a number of changes, some temporary and some that could stick around long-term to increase social distancing and reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19. If you are planning on staying at a Walt Disney World resort or entering resort property, you are going to want to check out our post What You Need to  Know About Changes to Walt Disney World Resorts.

An additional change that we just discovered relates to the online check-in that Disney has implemented to reduce personal contact. Guests now have the option to get Mousekeeping (Disney’s version of housekeeping) or to decline the service.

The prompt that pops up at the end of the online check-in states that guest rooms will undergo a thorough cleaning prior to arrival but that guests have the option to decline the service during their stay. Disney Vacation Club members who only receive housekeeping service on the 4th and 8th days of their stay are able to decline that as well.
