Earlier today Walt Disney World recalled their festival union workers and now we know why.
Disney has announced that Epcot International Food and Wine Festival will in fact be returning in 2020 and will begin on July 15.
July 15 is also opening day for Epcot. Disney will be begin a phased reopening of Walt Disney World property beginning on June 22 with resorts. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom will reopen on July 11 and Epcot and Hollywood Studios will reopen on July 15.
Disney Parks Blog has just announced that the festival will return and will be the “longest festival yet, giving you plenty of time to enjoy “A Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival!””
Disney has announed a start date but did not announce an end date for the festival but did say that it will continue “through the fall”.
The 2020 Epcot Internation Food and Wine Festival will offer “over 20 signature global marketplaces like Hawaii, Hops & Barley, and Islands of the Caribbean, spaced out around the park. And, if you’ve ever imagined a world where the floral fun of Flower & Garden is sprinkled in with the global goodies of Food & Wine, here’s your chance – guests will be able to see our newest topiary, Remy, in the France pavilion and find Flower & Garden merchandise.”
Unfortunately, due to social distancing guidelines and the current Coronavirus situation, the “Eat to the Beat Concert Series” will not be returning for 2020. However, that’s not to say there won’t be any musical entertainment. Popular Epcot musical favorites such as Mariachi Cobre and the JAMMitorshere will be playing throughout the park at various times per day.
Stay tuned for more information on this amazing feast for the senses, especially the palette as more information becomes available.
