Breaking news!

During a news conference on Friday, May 15, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that Florida theme parks have the go ahead to submit their plans for reopening the parks and resorts to the state for review.

In the plans, DeSantis said the parks should also submit the potential reopening date they would like to target when they will be able to successfully resume safe operations.

“They have to provide how they are going to do it, how they’re going to accommodate the guests, how they’re going to protect the staff and then they need to have an endorsement from the local official in their locality,” DeSantis said.

This is big news for the state of Florida and theme park opertators including of course, The Walt Disney Company.

Disney announced yesterday that Disney owned and operated businesses in Disney Springs would be reopening on May 27. It was announced last week that third party businesses could begin reopening with precautions on May 20.
