In an interview with Deadline, The Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek assured fans that there would be “no delays on Mandalorian.”

Filming wrapped on the second season of The Mandalorian back in early March. Although the show is incredibly detailed with its effects, it appears that work has been able to continue during the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Chapek, the current circumstances will not have a drastic impact on Disney +. “We have a certain amount of inventory for Disney+ that is fueling the machine. Pre-production–the development phase–can still happen during these times of lockdown, post-production can still happen.”

Chapek went on to discuss Disney’s continued commitment to releasing films in cinemas. he is optimistic that films will start to release again according to schedule soon including the live-action Mulan’s which has been rescheduled to release on July 24.

During this unprecedented time, Disney+ has released several new TV projects including Be Our Chef and Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian. In addition, Star Wars: The Clone Wars released new episodes on a weekly basis until the May 4 finale.

Falcon and the Winter Soldier could be able to start filming again soon though an August 2020 premier is unlikely on Disney+. Another show, WandaVision is currently scheduled to hit Disney+ in December 2020, no word on whether that is still the case.

Could Disney be on its way to being back on top? The world is slowly starting to reopen and that means that slowly but surely, we could begin to see Disney and their entities reopen as well. Stay tuned right here to For Love of the Mouse as more information becomes available.
