The parks are closed but we are daydreaming about some of our favorite Disney treats. From salty to sweet and our savory faves these are ten of our most favorite things to eat in Walt Disney World.
Let’s get started.
Mickey Cake Pop
I love Mickey Cake Pop’s. I don’t know why these are better than other cake pops but they are. At least once a trip, I have to wait in that long line at The Confectionary, unless I think about it when we are back by Storybook Circus and can grab one (or two) Mickey shorts or Mickey birthday cake pops. They are not only adorable and of course Instagrammable but they are delicious and the perfect little sweet Mickey treat.
Bison Cheeseburger Burger at Geyser Point – Wilderness Lodge
This is such a hidden gem at Walt Disney World. I am actually not a burger person. If I have the chance to pick what I want to eat, very rarely am I the one saying, “Gee I really want a burger.” But this burger is amazing.
First of all, bison is one of our favorite meats. Being in Colorado, we typically have bison available to us year round. Whether it is from a butcher or from the grocery store, bison is delicious. It is leaner than beef but doesn’t have a “gamey” taste. It’s just delicious and makes the best burger and steaks. It’s only fitting that Wilderness Lodge, the Disney resort modeled after Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone and includes details and highlights from the Western United States and our home region that one of the restaurants would feature a delectible bison burger.
This burger has you covered with savory, sweet and salty. With thick cut bacon, fried onion strings and marionberry jelly, the Bison Burger at Geyser Point is a must try with a gorgeous view. Be sure to be on the lookout for the geyser too because just like at Yellowstone it erupts every hour.
Fish and Chips at Yorkshire Fish Shop – Epcot
I am not a big fan of fried food but once in a while I just crave fish and chips. I love the fish and chips at Yorkshire Fish Shop in the UK pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase. It could be the smell of the malt vinegar that brings me in but with the water in the bakground, sitting, listening to that World Showcase soundtrack, the crunchy fried fish and the thick cut fries with plenty of malt vinegar and tarter sauce just gets me every time.
Caramel Butter Bar at Karamell Kuche – Epcot
Karamell Kuche is such a popular spot in Epcot’s World showcase and it’s no wonder why. The delicious smell of caramel draws you in and the site of all those delectible caramel treats is mouthwatering. There are so many options, chocolate covered caramels, the ever-popular caramel corn, caramel dipped apples and of course the caramel butter bar.
Never tried the caramel butter bar? Well you, my friend, are missing out on a delcious morsel or caramel-y, butter-y goodness. This bar is ooey and gooey and buttery and if you like a delicious butter cake or butter bar and gooey caramel this is a must try.
A old favorite. Sometimes in Disney I just get a hankering for a Mickey pretzel. It is one of my favorite Mickey shaped foods and yes I even love the “cheese” sauce that it comes with. After so many sweet treats, sometimes I just crave a salty, bread-y pretzel served with fake cheese; it just helps with the magic for me.
American Dream Slushie – Epcot
I’m not a huge slushy person. I don’t drink soda very often, in fact, the only time I drink soda is at Disney when once in a blue moon I crave a diet coke. I can’t explain it but it’s a thing.
The American Dream Slushie is a red, white and blue treat served year round in the American pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase. The slushie flavors are strawberry (red) and blue raspberry (blue) with creamy white soft serve in the center.
This tasty treat can be found at Fife and Drum Tavern in the American Pavilion and is the perfect frozen beverage on a hot Florida day.
Lunch Box Tarts Woody’s Lunch Box – Hollywood Studios
I dream about these. They are so good. Better by far than the silver wrapped version, we can buy in bulk at every grocery store. These are delicious. There is a chocolate hazelnut pastry with candied bacon pieces on top and then typically a seasonal fruit pastry.
One of the seasonal is the holiday Lunch Box Tart and it is a cranberry apple flavor and it so cute and delicious. There was also a blueberry lemon tart that was delicious and summery.
Definitely head over to Woody’s Lunch Box to try one of these gems. They are flaky and light and buttery with that delicious compote in the center. My favorites are the fruity ones but they are all delicious and a perfect Disney snack.
Ronto Wrap and Endorian Chicken Wrap – Ronto’s Roasters
Whenever we travel to Batuu we always make a stop at Ronto’s Roasters. Bryson loves the Ronto Wrap and the Ronto Morning Wrap.
The traditional Ronto Wrap is available for lunch and in the evening and is a pork sausage, roasted pork, a creamy peppercorn sauce and tangy slaw.
The Ronto Morning Wrap is similar but with eggs. Both are really great options and pack a ton of flavor in a little wrap.
For me, I get the Endorian Chicken Wrap. This is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is an amazing burst of flavor in a pillowy, delicious wrap. The chicken is marinated with delicious herbs and is incredibly tender and juicy, with a crunchy and refreshing cucumber relish, tangy yogurt and a feta cheese pesto.
This is one of the most flavorful things I have ever eaten in Disney. Must have on our list.
Plaza Ice Cream Sundae
Bryson loves ice cream and the smell of those freshly baked waffle cones just pulls you in. The Plaza Ice Cream sundae is a Disney staple and a delicious Disney treat. Over at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor in Magic Kingdom, guests can snag a delicious waffle cone with two scoops of their choice of ice cream served at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and topped with your choice of toppings.
What could be better than strolling down Main Street with your ice cream sundae? That’s the dream right there.
In addition, you can also grab an amazing and massive ice cream sandwich over at both Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and over in Hollywood Studios at Hollywood Scoops. Sandwiched in between two large chocolate chip cookies are two scoops of your choice of ice cream. Delish!
Mickey Caramel Apple
You’ve seen them in the Disney sweet shops, but have you tried one? They are the cutest treat and even come with holiday themes or seasonal themes. I absolutely love these and love to bring them home for family and friends as well. There are different flavors but most are dipped in caramel and then either white or milk chocolate with various other sprinkles and things rounding out their designs.
You can leave them whole or have the shop cut it up for you but whichever way you slice it, they are delicious.
That’s it. Those are ten of our favorite Disney snacks and treats. We hope we have inspired you to try some new treats or revisit some old favorites on your next trip to the parks.
Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
