Dalgona Coffee. Easy and Delicious

There was a time when I didn’t drink coffee… then I met my husband whose blood is actually strong, black cold brew and now I have two cups a day at a minimum and a coffee station to rival Starbucks (without the espresso machine but that’s on the list).

I’m all about the frothy, creamy, flavored beverages and when I saw this Dalgona coffee, I had to give it a try.

You only need a few things and then to make it mine, I add a couple steps and in my opinion, it just elevates this simple yet fancy and unique coffee so much.

Let’s get started.

Now, let’s put it all together.

Take equal parts instant espresso and yes it HAS to be espresso not instant coffee.

Equal parts espresso, warm water and sugar in your bowl. Next, get to whisking.

You are going to notice that it starts to take on more of a caramel color form the deep rich espresso color it begins with. Keep whisking until the mixture forms soft peaks. It will take a few minutes of constant whisking to get the appropriate consistency.

Set aside and then if you don’t have a pitcher and frother you can just add plain milk.

My recommendation is to get yourself an inexpensive pitcher and frother because if you want to make this delicious concoction even better it takes an extra thirty seconds to take this from good to great.

In a pitcher put .5 cups of milk, I use oat milk because I can’t do dairy milk and oat milk gives me the creaminess that I want. I also add one of my amazing Skinny Syrups in. You can use any syrup you like but I just love these. They have no sugar, no calories and they don’t taste like your typical sugar free syrup; these are delicious. Highly recommend.

I love the Irish Cream, the Salted Caramel and the S’mores but I have a whole bunch of flavors and the only one that I don’t enjoy is the Glazed Donut flavor, which I discovered on the morning I took photos for this post. I am all in on the other flavors though.

Add a little syrup to your pitcher and take your handheld frother and froth it up. It only takes about ten to fifteen seconds.

Put the ice in your glass then the milk and then top with the whipped coffee mixture.

Voila!

Now, I will say. This is a treat. This is not something I can do frequently. There is a lot of sugar in this and it’s just not something I can justify everyday.
