It is looking like we are going to be isolating for a few more weeks. This provides even more opportunities for anxiety, depression, stress and more negatives to creep into our lives and our minds.
I challenge you to take on 20 days of self-care.
Here is a BINGO card for you; a card full of small acts you can do for yourself.
This is a fun way to keep track of your self-care accomplishments and also so that you can choose which activities you want to participate in. Make a little reward system for each BINGO that you get, something that will continue to improve your self-care; a new dress, maybe get yourself some flowers, buy that new makeup product you have been eyeing, it can be big or small and then if you get a black out on your BINGO card, set an even bigger reward for yourself, something to really reward yourself with for taking care of you.
I know, it might sound silly but you cannot take care of anything or anyone else unless you are properly taking care of you. There is nothing wrong with and it should be encouraged to reward yourself for taking time for you, for taking care of you, and for prioritizing you and doing so often.
Even though there is a lot we can’t be doing right now, there is an awful lot we can be doing and taking steps to nurture yourself is one of those things. It doesn’t have to be a day-long event, even a few minutes in the morning, afternoon or evening can make a difference for your outlook and have a positive affect on your mind, body and soul.
Not listed on our BINGO card is something that I find really helpful and important. I like to start each day by either reading our of one of my devotionals or taking a moment to meditate or be grateful. One small act, ten minutes or less of reminding yourself of the postitives that surround you and that there are many blessings in your life regardless of how hard things may seem can have a powerful impact on your day.
You may notice that there are more than 20 squares. Just because it is a 20 day challenge doesn’t mean you can only treat yourself once a day or have to stop after 20 days. Use this as a template for creating your own self-care BINGO that continues after you complete either the 20 days or the full card.
We’re all in this together even though it’s easy to feel alone during times of isolation. Those feelings can easily start to manifest themselves into deeper feelings of anxiety, stress, depression, hopelessness and loss. Take care of you so that you can thrive for you and your crew.
