There are so many amazing products that we are loving right now and some of them are highlighted in this amazing look.
We are ready to move onto our eye look and today we are trying out the Huda Beauty Obsessions Mini Palette in Mauve.
These Mini Palettes from Huda Beauty are awesome. There are seven palettes that range from oranges, greens, blues, red and this mauve. I love Huda Beauty palettes but I have never tried these mini palettes, I had high hopes that it would be the same formula and the same amazing pigment.
We are going to take this Huda Beauty Obsessions Palette in Mauve and create a mauve-lous look for any occasion.
First, we are going to take our a fluffy transition brush and the middle shade, a light mocha brown as our transition color. Buff this into the crease and onto the lid. Darker on the outer v between the outer edge of the eye and the brow.
Next, take your blending brush with the top shade in the palette, a deep burgundy shade. I really love this shade in the pan, it is deep and reminds me of Red Rocks. If you have ever been to Colorado’s Red Rocks ampitheater you will know what I am referring to but it’s simply gorgous. A deep burgundy, not bright but a dark brown/burgundy.
We are going to blend this right over our transition shade on the crease and keep towards the top of the crease to create great definition between the brow bone and the lid. I didn’t love the way this shade blended out, it really took some work to blend which is fine but it seemed chunky to me on the lid which was unfortunate.
I primed my lids with the same primer I use every day and I have definitely had easier and better formulated Huda Beauty matte shades but I still love the color so if you are willing to work with it, you can create a great look, just be patient and understand these Obsessions palettes are not the best formulas from Huda Beauty in my opinion.
We’re going to take the eggplant shade on the bottom left next and bring it down onto the lower lash line and we are also going to take this into the outer corner of the lid and up about halfway onto the crease and halfway over the the center of the lid.
A darker shadow on the outside of the lid will draw attention to that part of the eye making the eyes appear larger and brighter.
Next, take a flat brush, spray with either water or sometimes I use Glow Recipe Watermelon Ulta Fine Mist to dampen your brush, then we are going to go in with the cranberry shimmer shade in the middle column on the far left.
Dampening the brush will allow more of the shade to pack onto the lid and stay on the lid. Oftentimes, shimmers are harder to pack onto the lid in a uniform manner.
We are going to pack this shade onto the lid, blending from where we stopped the eggplant shade to the inner corner of the lid. Be patient with this process because it can take some time to get the color to blend and to pack onto the lid concisely.
I still am not loving how these shades are blending out; it takes some extra time with this palette but the finished look was pretty and I am pretty happy with it overall after some work.
To finish the look, we are going to go in with Too Faced Better Than Sex Easy Glide Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner and The Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara which is my favorite, go-to, holy-grail mascara.
This is a great every day look or you could ramp it up with a winged liner and some falsies for a great night out. Very versatile and this palette is great for travel because of its size.
Overall, I like the finished look but wouldn’t recommend this palette for beginners because it was a little difficult to blend out and work with. If you love this look, be sure to check out the palette and the other Huda Beauty Obessions palettes to add to your collection as a less expensive option to some of the larger Huda Beauty palettes.
I will leave you with this though, you get what you pay for and while Mercury Retrograde and New Nude are two of my favorite palettes in my entire collection but these Obsessions palettes are not formulated the same as those larger more expensive palettes and I would say that those are more worth the price than these smaller palettes as they are formulated better.
Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
