5Rumor has it Disney has a Zootopia sequel in the works. That’s right! Nick and Judy could be coming back to big screen soon.

In a now deleted video, Tommy “Tiny” Lister (Finnick) was at a meet and greet last week where he claimed that there will not only be a Zootopia 2, but also a Zootopia 3!

“I can tell you for sure I’m doing another Zootopia with Disney. We doing three of them… We the biggest film that Disney is producing.  The last one was 240 million.  This one I’m hearing will be 300 million.  That’s what they spent on the budget, not the advertising.” Said Lister.

6These rumors have been swirling since 2017 but now with a Zootopia-themed land confirmed to be coming to Shanghai Disneyland, the potential news seems to be gaining momentum.

The original Zooptopia grossed over $1 billion for the Walt Disney Company and with Disney taking strides to maximize their intellectual property, a sequel makes strong business sense for the company.

4Disney currently has 7 release date slots in 2020 and 8 slots in 2021 reserved for untitled films. The closest description for Zootopia 2 among that list is an ‘Untitled Disney Animation Film’ in 2021. This could mean that the Zootopia 2 release date is set for November 24, 2021. There is no confirmation from Disney at this time. This slot could also be reserved for a yet unannounced original or even Moana 2.

For this project to have a release date of November 24, 2021 would mean that the project is currently in production or even nearing post-production and we would expect a first trailer reveal late spring or early summer 2021.

Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
