8Disney recently announced the closure of both Shanghai Disney and Hong Kong Disneyland due to the deadly coronavirus. On the heels of that announcement, Disney has released an email to those booked on upcoming cruises regarding additional measures being taken to protect guests and crew.

Disney Cruise Line has declared that any guests or crew who have traveled from or through mainland China within 14 days or boarding their cruise will not be allowed to board the ship under any circumstances.

1Guests or crew members who have traveled from or through mainland China or who have been in direct contact with someone who has a suspected or confirmed case of novel coronavirus within 14 days prior to the start of their cruise should immediately call DCL at 1-866-325-2112 or 407-566-3510.

According to the communication to guests, the U.S. State Department has issued a Level 4 Travel Advisory, and, at this point, has recommended that no one travel to China. Disney Cruise Line has said that they will be closely monitoring the latest details regarding the situation, and is in contact with regional and international health agencies.

Disney puts the health and safety of guests above all else and guests traveling in the next few months should continue to monitor their emails and check back right here to For the Love of the Mouse for more details as they become available.
