Baby Yoda is coming to Build-A-Bear.
That’s right. Soon, you will be able to create your own Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian.
Disney is capitalizing off of the cutest little marketing character, Baby Yoda in a number of ways including merchandise in the parks and on Shop Disney. Marketing for “The Child” or more commonly known as Baby Yoda was delayed at the request of Jon Favreau so as not to spoil the plot of the show but the secret is out now and as we wait months and months for season 2 of The Mandalorian, we have a plethora of merchandise to keep us company.
“I’m excited to share we will be one of the first companies to provide the digital and internet phenomenon who is trending higher than all the presidential candidates combined,” Build-A-Bear CEO Sharon Price John said (via BusinessInsider) “We now will have The Child, also known as Baby Yoda.”
Following the announcement from Build-A-Bear, Shares skyrocketed 15%.
Build-A-Bear expects total revenue for fiscal 2019 to be between $334 million and $338 million. In 2018, the company reported total revenue of $336.6 million. This is not Build-A-Bear’s first partnership with Disney, in 2019, they featured a line for Toy Story 4 and have a number of other Disney related lines. With the addition of Baby Yoda in 2020, Build-A-Bear will likely continue strong sales and revenue for 2020.
