Disney’s Hollywood Studios has turned into quite the popular park since a little land opened called Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Now that Rise of the Resistance has opened back on December 5, Hollywood Studios is arguable one of the busiest parks at Walt Disney World.
Disney had previously announced earlier opening hours for Hollywood Studios in anticipation of Rise of the Resistance’s popularity. They have now implemented another park hours change as of December 12 that will affect December 2019 opening times and also makes changes to Extra Magic Hours that start this month instead of early 2020.
Here is what we know:
- December 12-21: Park hours extended from 8am opening to 7am opening
- December 22, 29: Park hours extended from 9am opening to 8am opening
Extra Magic Hours have moved to evenings on the following dates:
- December 15th: EMH moved from 8-9am to 9-11pm
- December 22nd: EMH moved from 8-9am to 10pm-midnight
- December 29th: EMH removed from schedule
Disney had previously announced that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance would not be included in Extra Magic Hours at this time and as of the time of publication has not changed there stance on that. However, with the popularity of this attraction, guests have been allowed to access boarding groups at the time of park opening most days and that only requires that guests be inside the park to do so which means that if that is what you are interested in, be sure to keep checking the My Disney Experience app to see if boarding groups are open so you can snag one. Most days, they have been distributed around 8:30 a.m.
