Months ago, we posted that Disney had secured several narrators for the highly anticipated and incredibly popular annual event, Candlelight Processional. Finally, Disney has confirmed the final two narrators for this event and we can post the entire lineup.
What is candlelight processional you ask? It is the Christmas Story, as told according to the bible. Disney is unapologetic and does not hide that this is a biblical reading, recounting the birth of Jesus, so if that is not your cup of tea, don’t go. Each night, the Christmas story is told by a celebrity narrator, accompanied by a 50-piece orchestra and choir. The choir consists of Disney castmembers and guest choir’s from all over the country.
The processional is held every night during the holiday season from November 24 thru December 30. It is important to note that in order to get into the Candlelight Processional you must have a valid Epcot park pass for that day so you can’t just purchase the Candlelight Processional Dining Package and expect to see the performance.
The Candlelight Processional is performed three times per night at 5:00, 6:45 and 8:15 p.m. The show is located in the America Gardens Theater, located in the World Showcase section of Epcot.
We have an entire post dedicated to explaining this amazing event and how to best plan to attend because some of these narrators are incredibly popular and the lines for them will be several world showcase pavilions long for stand by. You can read more about Candlelight Processional HERE!
If you purchase the Candlelight Dining Package you get to enjoy a meal at one of the table service restaurants in the park for either breakfast, lunch or dinner and then you get a guaranteed seat in one of the two showings of the candlelight processional.
We always do the dining package and we have dined at a different Epcot restaurant each year. We have dined at Restaurant Marrakesh, Rose and Crown and Coral Reef. This year we are dining at Tokyo Dining. This guarantees you a seat for the show and allows you to skip the stand-by line. Don’t think that you will not wait in line however. There is a line for the dining package but you are guaranteed a spot and you will get in before anyone from stand-by.
If you have never experienced this event, it is a true holiday extravaganza and an amazing event. We highly recommend this event to kick off your holiday season. There is also a dining package associated with the event that we recommend for some of the more popular narrators as the stand by line for those folks can begin up to 6 hours prior to the show.
The last two celebrity guest speakers have been secured for the annual Candlelight Processional holiday event at Epcot.
Walt Disney World confirmed that musical theater actress Chita Rivera will appear Dec. 11-12. Warwick Davis, known for his roles in the “Harry Potter” films and “Willow,” will speak on Dec. 19-21.
