Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has a new slew of new menu items throughout the land and we are excited to share them with you.
Unfortunately for Disney World guests, these additions are only at the Disneyland version of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at this time but stay tuned as they may be coming to Disney World soon.
There are several new items that have landed on the planet of Batuu to please your palette and we are going to cover them all today.
Over at Ronto Roasters, there is a sweet cinammon sugar on a pork rind…a Batuu churro if you will. As stated on Disney Parks Blog, “Kyryll Pork Rinds with cinnamon-sugar served in a MSE-6 Series Repair Droid souvenir vessel.” When we first saw this, we were wondering, krill are small crustaceans, so, how did those become pork rinds? Nope! Kyryll is not referring to small crustaceans, it is just a term from Star Wars. The Kyryll’s World system from Star Wars was a star system from the Outer Rim’s Phelleem sector. It was the homeworld of the Pui-ui species. This, according to Bryson, our resident Star Wars enthusiast.
There is another dish at Ronto Roasters as well! We have a plant-based item at Ronto Roasters and that is the Ronto-less Wrap. Just by looking at the photos, we think that it is a great choice by Disney to include a plant-based item at this location and we are pleased to see that it doesn’t appear to be just a plant-based version of the beloved Ronto Wrap.
It seems like it is a completely different wrap with a totally new festival of flavors. According to Disney Parks Blog, this dish will be “featuring plant-based sausage, spicy kimchi slaw, sweet pickled cucumber, and Gochujang spread all wrapped in pita.” Curious about what Gochujang spread is? This is a spicy fermented chili paste so be prepared for a kick with this dish.
Oga’s Cantina has a new spread as well! You can now get yourself a cheese and charcuterie board. This item is called the Happabore Sampler and includes 3 types of meat, two types of cheese and assorted accoutrements. We are really excited about this addition to the menu!
Over at Katsaka’s kettle, we now have chocolate popcorn. Yep, you heard right. Chocolate popcorn has landed. We aren’t big fans of the original item at Katsaka’s kettle which is the Outpost Popcorn Mix but that is just a personal preference for us. We didn’t think it had enough flavor, salt, sweet, anything, but this, this we could probably get behind. The popcorn is chocolate coated and then dusted in red crait salt (because planet crait is a salt planet duh).
Finally, over at Docking Bay 7, we have a new item on the kid’s menu. But, as you know, Disney is for kids and kids alike so this new option is a plant based option on the kids menu that kids of all ages can order. It’s an impossible patty in a bao bun and it is served with a “house sauce” a creamy based sauce, carrots and an orange.
We’re not going to lie, this is the most disappointing item that popped up on the new menu. We get that we are all about these plant based options but… we think this one could have been done better as it looks lackluster and just plain and thrown together. Skip this and go for the chocolate popcorn.
Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
