Welcome to For Love of the Mouse. We are so excited that you stopped by. On our blog, we cover all things Disney and beyond. Come for the Disney, stay for the lifestyle, health, beauty and more! Be sure to follow us on Instagram at ForLoveOfMouse, on Facebook at For The Love of The Mouse and on YouTube at For Love of The Mouse. Let’s get started!
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge main food outpost, Docking Bay 7, opened on both coasts with fun and themed names for the items on their menu. While the menu itself boasts items like smoked port ribs that were called Kadu Smoked Ribs, or a breaded chicken called Fried Endorian Tip Yip.
Those fun names have now been removed from the menu and replaced with more straight forward names for the food items on this far far away planet.
The menu itself hasn’t changed just the names of the items. Now, you will find, Beef Pot Roast, Fried Chicken, Smoked Port Ribs and more instead of the unique food titles.
Disney has yet to comment on the name changes though we can only assume that even though the descriptions were extensive and they even came with photos, guests complained about confusion on the items and Disney decided it wasn’t a battle worth fighting so they changed the items to simpler more straightforward names.
You can read all about the full menus at Docking Bay 7 HERE! The food at Docking Bay 7 has not gotten the most rave reviews but we thought it was great. We love to get outside the box and out of the habit of theme park food, burgers, fries and pretzels. We love that Disney is taking chances with their food in the theme parks. One of our favorite counter services places to eat on property is Satuli Canteen over in Pandora at Animal Kingdom. In fact, it even made it to the top of our list at Animal Kingdom in terms of food. You can read all about our top restaurants at each Disney park HERE!
We love that Disney is getting away from typical “theme park food” and is moving towards more flavorful, healthy items that are packed with awesome ingredients and encourages people to get out of their comfort zone. We encourage you to get our of your comfort zone and try some of these new hot spots around Walt Disney World property to take advantage of the culinary adventures Disney is taking us on.
Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
