The Disney Wonder has set sail once again following a brief dry dock period. Dry dock is the term used when a ship is taken out of service for a period of time in order to freshen it up and enhance the ship.
The Disney Wonder was in dry dock for only a couple of weeks and has just recently sailed back onto the high seas with a few improvements added to her to delight guests and enhance their cruise experience.
As we previously reported, the most prominent enhancement to The Disney Wonder is the new lounge themed after “The Princess and The Frog”. This new French Quarter Lounge will join another “Princess and The Frog” themed restaurant on board The Wonder in Tiana’s Place.
As mentioned on Disney Parks Blog, “the jazzy lounge invites guests deeper into the story”. The lounge will feature live music each night as well as specialty themed cocktails and a lively New Orleans atmosphere. Guests will be transported straight to the heart of New Orleans in this outdoors themed space.
Be on the lookout for nods to your favorite characters from the film sprinkles throughout this lively and immersive lounge. Some of these include a full-size streetcar, modeled after the one Tiana rode on in the film and a mural of Dr. Facilier.
During the day, the space will be used for trivia, activities for the whole family and as a character meet and greet location.
The lounge isn’t the only change to The Disney Wonder.
Over in the adults only section of the ship, Cove Café has been given a spruce, making it the perfect spot to sit back and relax with a delicious specialty coffee and a complimentary pastry in the rich, warm and inviting quiet of this on board coffee shop.
Last but not least, Vibe, the trendy teen space has been transformed to make it more inviting for 14-17 year old cruisers. According to Disney Parks Blog, the club now “has a timeless feel with an open, bright redesign that includes framed quotes on the walls, a light color palette and metal work.” Disney Cruise Line Imagineers have also added a coffee bar and updated virtual reality technology to the space.
We will be sailing on The Disney Wonder coming up soon and we are so excited for our first time on this ship and to experience all of the magic onboard. Stay tuned for details regarding our cruise and The Disney Wonder!
