13-4.jpgI recently received my first ever Ipsy glam bag. I was super skeptical about this service as I have seen positive and negative reviews but decided to go ahead and give it a try. The decision actually came to me through an ad on Instagram, yes, those really do work.

I purchased the glam bag and also the glam bag plus because I wanted to compare the two.

23Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that comes with a small makeup bag and for $12 a month, you receive five products, what are called deluxe samples. The samples could be makeup products, skin care, perfumes, nail products or other beauty items.

Ipsy Glam Bag plus is a a step up from the original Ipsy Glam Bag. With this service, you receive five full-size products. This service is $25 per month.

The items came together in one box which was great. I appreciate that they didn’t ship out separately and waste that material.

Here is what I received in my Ipsy Glam Bag:

29-1.jpgA celestially-inspired bag. This bag is well-made and adorable complete with a cute crystal on the zipper for an added zing.

24111Skin Space Defence Bright Eye Lift Gel. I have not yet had the opportunity to give this a try but am excited to do so. The gel claims to reduce dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines and also fight against environmental pollution and stimulate collagen production.

28I actually squealed when I saw this Ofra Lip Gloss. I love Ofra products and this is my color! I am so obsessed. This OFRA x Madison Sugarcup Lip Gloss is a perfect pink shade that I can wear with anything and is perfect for everyday.

25The Hanhoo Watermelon Illuminator – Overnight Serum is amazing. It is lightweight which is perfect and it smells divine. I have used it for about a week now and my only complaint is that I wish it was a larger size.

I have not yet tried the Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel in 2 – Warm Golden Blonde but I do love a good brow product and I also typically enjoy Benefit Cosmetics.

19Last but definitely not least was the L.O.C.K. Color Unicorn Glow Long Wear Primer. I have used this several times and I absolutely love it. In fact, I have already ordered a full-size version because it is so awesome.

I am overall very satisfied with the products from my first Ipsy Glam Bag. The products were great and specific to my skin tone and preferences it seemed. I appreciate that it was a variety of skin care, makeup and more and the quality of the products and companies were high end and great finds.

One concern I see quite a bit with this service is that as time wears on, the bag gets less and less exciting. I will keep you updated if that happens because as soon as the quality starts to go downhill, I’m out but for now, I am really excited about this service and look forward to getting it next month. $12 well spent!

Now, for my first ever Ipsy Glam Bag Plus.

31As mentioned above, this service is $25 a month and with that, you receive five full sized products. One thing that I was concerned about and pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t the case was receiving duplicate products.

With many subscription services, that can be the case where duplicate products are sent but luckily that was not the case, at least not for this first month.

First up, Paris Hilton Skincare ProD.N.A. Dual-Action Cleansing Gel. This product isn’t mind blowing by any means but I have used it several times and I do enjoy it. I won’t purchase it again but I’m glad that I received it and gave it a try.

17I also received the Ciate London Extraordinary Translucent Powder. I love Ciate London as a brand and was thrilled to receive this product in my bag. I don’t use translucent powder everyday. Typically, it works best on top of a liquid product and I don’t use liquid foundation period and I don’t use liquid products everyday. I have several translucent powders and they are all high end products. I enjoy this product and look forward to using it sporadically. I would have never purchased this product but it is a great option and I think a fantastic add to this bag.

Another Ofra product (yay), that came in my Glam Bag Plus was the OFRA x Madison Miller Squad Palette. This pan came with one blush and two highlighters. I absolutely love all of the colors in this palette.

The formula is rich and creamy and pigmented and in your face glam. I also have used one of the highlighter colors as an eyeshadow. This is the perfect travel palette and I fully plan on taking this on our next trip.

14.jpgThe most disappointing product in my opinion was the Wander Beauty Frame Your Face Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe. I am blonde so I have lighter eyebrows but this product was waxy and honestly it was just not the best quality product. I have used it several times now and each time I have to supplement it with another brow product to complete my look.

Lastly, I received the Nomad Cosmetics Berlin Underground Intense Eyeshadow Palette. This is a great fall palette. My only complaint is that there are not enough transition shades or matte shades. I can’t create an entire well-rounded look with this palette so I wouldn’t take it for travel but I definitely use the shades with other palettes to create fun looks. There are a variety of colors even though some don’t seem to fit and it does kind of appear to be more of a smash up of shades and not entirely thought out in terms of creating looks. I enjoy the pigment, I like the quality and the shades are great for fall.

23Overall, I am pleased with both the Glam Bag and the Glam Bag Plus. A lot of these products, I would have never purchased myself but am glad to have them in my collection.

I am excited to see what is to come with this service. Stay tuned.

Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
