9Kevin Feige, who has been with Marvel since 2007 has signed on to develop a movie for the Star Wars franchise.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Feige has been in discussion with President of LucasFilm, Kathleen Kennedy as well as the co-chair’s of the studio, Alan Horn and Alan Bergman to “pursue a new era in Star Wars Storytelling.” The Hollywood Reporter goes on to say that Feige has approached a top-tier Hollywood actor in regards to joining his Star Wars project.

10Kennedy has no plans to leave LucasFilm anytime soon. She is one of the few female executives in the industry and in September 2018, renewed her contract for an additional three years.

Feige has led Marvel to new heights with the most recent hit being Avengers: Endgame which grossed $2.9 billion and overtook Avatar as the highest grossing film of all time. Feige is not leaving the Marvel universe and has a plethora of movies and shows currently in the works.  11

The success of Kennedy with LucasFilm and Feige with Marvel could bring the Star Wars franchise to unprecedented highs with two of the top powerhouses of the industry at the helm.

Disney has a lot riding on the Star Wars franchise with the recent opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on both coasts. Although many have touted the lands as failures due to Disney’s strong efforts in crowd control, we have another perspective on that and we invite you to read more about that HERE!

In addition, Disney has their brand new streaming service launching in November with Disney+. This service will bring about the release of each Star Wars film up to this point available on launch day as well as a number of exclusive shows from the franchise currently in development and coming exclusively to Disney+.

Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
