There are changes coming to the very popular Walt Disney World Marathon for 2020. The event takes place January 8-12, 2020 and Run Disney has announced a few changes coming to marathon weeked.
The race time for the marathon will start at 5 a.m. this year instead of 5:30 a.m. as has been the case in previous years.
In addition, less time will be spent by runners on the roads outside of and leading to the parks and more time running through Epcot and will also venture around Blizzard Beach Water Park.
These changes are an effort to reduce participants time on roadways during the event.
Disney has yet to release specific course details.
Also new for 2020, a new outdoor area will be set up for runners and ChEAR Squad packages. This area can be utilized for photos, gear pick up and recovery.
ChEAR squad packages are spectator offerings that include access to the finish line and Magic Kingdom viewing. You can purchase those packages HERE when they become available.
Important to note, during the Princess Half Marathon, Bryson did not purchase the ChEAR package and was able to access the finish line and Magic Kingdom and other park viewing locations without the package.
In addition to the Marathon, the weekend also includes a 5K, a 10K, a half marathon and kids races.
Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
