Every Show Coming to Disney+ on Launch Day

We have talked a lot about Disney+ and there is a lot to tell. Disney’s new streaming service launches on November 12 and is bringing with it a whole host of original content and shows that can only be found on Disney+.

Back in 2012, Netflix and Disney signed an agreement that guarantees Netflix retains streaming rights to Disney titles released in 2016, 2017, and 2018 through the end of 2019.

But Disney is not positioning itself to replace current major streaming services. Back in 2017, Iger stated the pricing would be, “substantially below Netflix because we’ll have substantially less volume.”

Disney Plus will allow downloading, so all content from the service can be accessed offline! This is not the only streaming service to offer such a service but other services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and YouTube Red only offer downloading on some content. Hulu, however, has announced that soon they will make all of their content downloadable.

So, what all is coming to Disney+? We have the full line-up of content for you of what will be available on launch day for this groundbreaking and game changing streaming service.

Disney+ will eventually be home to all of the Disney animated features and Pixar movies, Star Wars, Marvel films and more. But not everything will be available when the service launches. Here’s what will be.

Noelle tells the story of Santa’s daughter Noelle, who is played by Anna Kendrick. Her brother Nick, played by Bill Hader, disappears after taking over the Santa duties, so Noelle ventures from the North Pole to find him before Christmas.

Lady and the Tramp

People Magazine

Yet another live-action retelling of a beloved animated classic, this version of Lady and the Tramp features real life rescue pooches. Tessa Thompson voices Lady, with Justin Theroux as Tramp. Also lending their voice talents are Ashley Jensen, Benedict Wong, Janelle Monáe and Sam Elliott, with Kiersey Clemons as Darling, Lady’s owner, and Thomas Mann as her husband Jim. Monáe will also contribute to the soundtrack. Stay in, curl up with some spaghetti and meatballs, and have a Bella Notte with this one.

Marvel Hero Project

A documentary series focusing on young heroes in their communities, Marvel’s Hero Project launches with one episode on Nov. 12, with more coming every Friday starting Nov. 15.

The World According to Jeff Goldblum

Jeff Goldblum goes around and tries things. All sorts of things! Watch Jeff sample ice cream, try on sneakers, learn about tattoos, and other totally normal things. But it’s Jeff Goldblum, so we know he’ll bring his zest for life to the most mundane of stuff.

Kristen Bell leads this docu-series about former high school theater kids getting together for one more performance with the help of some Broadway stars. They relive old drama, old friendships, and some former flames, while rekindling their passion for theater.

Forky Asks a Question

The breakthrough star of Toy Story 4 is returning to the small screen where, in addition to questioning his very own existence, he questions literally everything. We will follow Forky on his journey of solving some of life’s biggest and smallest questions.

Pixar SparkShorts

Pixar launched a program to showcase shorts from new animators. The first few already premiered on YouTube, but the rest of the collection is set to premiere on Disney Plus. Some of the new shorts will include a swearing pink ball of yarn dealing with a hostile workplace and an all-the-feels tale of friendship between a small kitten and an energetic pitbull! We are definitely on board for these.

High School Musical: The Series

We’re going back back to East High. The show takes place in the “real life” high school where the movie was filmed. High School Musical: The Musical: The Series follows the “real life” students of East High, who are compelled to put on a production of High School Musical after someone realizes that the school has never done it! What! We see, if done right, a great blend of new and old coming together for a nostalgic but relevant take on this beloved pop culture phenomenon.

The Mandalorian

This will be the first ever live-action Star Wars series and it will take place in the timeframe between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Without the Empire, chaos reigns in the far reaches of the galaxy. The Mandalorian looks like it’s really going to lean into the whole Space Western thing, following a lone gunslinger as he makes his way through the wild, lawless planets and deals with bounty hunters and the rise of the First Order. The series is written and produced by Iron Man and The Lion King director Jon Favreau.

That’s a lot of ground to cover and this is only what will be available on opening day of Disney+ there is so much more to come as the streaming service gets underway.

Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
