Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is set to open officially to the public on August 29 at Walt Disney World and has been open for several months in Disneyland but as we reported, only a partial land has been open on either coasts.

The second part, and second attraction is scheduled to open on December 5 (Walt Disney’s birthday) in Walt Disney World and on January 17, 2020, the attraction will open on the west cost.

We now have a first look at the highly anticipated, one-of-a-kind experience coming to both Disney World and Disneyland.

STOP HERE if you don’t want spoilers!

According to Disney, “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will blue the lines between fantasy and reality and will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Guests will be recruited to join Rey and General Organa at a secret base. Along the way, they will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. With the help of some heroes of the Resistance, they break out and must escape the Star Destroyer, protect the secret base, and stay one step ahead of Kylo Ren.”

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will transport guests straight to the middle of an intense battle between the First Order and the Resistance. The ride’s story will transport guests to the side of the Resistance on the edge of the Black Spire Outpost.

Here, guests will meet an animatronic Kylo Ren who will try to get you to talk and reveal the location of the Resistance Base. With the help of your R5 unit you will be led towards an escape. Unfortunately for you, your R5 leads you towards a barrage of fire from Stormtroopers and full-sized AT-AT vehicles as you navigate the destroyer.

Eventually, you make it to the escape pods. As you enter the escape pod, your trackless ride vehicle is actually driving onto a motion base platform, similar to that of the Star Tours attraction.

You can view the entire first look HERE!

We are beyond excited to join the fight with the Resistance in December!

Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
