We are fully in the throws of D23, the bi-annual expo of all things Disney. During the highly anticipated Disney Parks Panel, Bob Chapek took the stage to release a plethora of information.

Including the announcement that something brand new, a new experience is coming to Walt Disney World and actually all over the United States.

Target is joining the Disney family and is this the fifth gate announcement that we were expecting? That we were waiting for with baited breath? Nope. It’s a store. A Target store, coming to Walt Disney World property.

Womp womp.

There was no major announcement concerning a shiny and new theme park coming to Walt Disney World but Disney did announce, with the help of the CEO of Target, Brian Cornell., that starting with 25 stores and by October 2020 40 additional Target stores will receive a Disney facelift and shiny, new entire Disney section of their store.

According to Cornell, this new Disney section of target will include “fun and Instagrammable” moments and experiences coupled with high quality Disney products. Bringing Disney merchandise closer to home. This brand new retail experience includes an actual physical Target storefront coming to Walt Disney World property.

Not exactly sure how we feel about a Target in Disney, or how thrilled Walt would be about that but we do love a good Target shopping experience. We just have to come to accept the fact that our long awaited fifth gate annoucement is actually a Target.

Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
