One of the highly anticipated announcements at the 2019 D23 Expo taking place right now (August 22) through August 25 in Anaheaim, California is reveal of the name for the marvel-themed land that is currently under construction at Disney California Adventure.
Drum roll please.
The brand new Marvel-Themed land will be named, Avengers Campus.
Avengers Campus will replace A Bug’s Land and will incorporate Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT which is already up and operating and replaced Tower of Tower.
Disney acquired the Marvel franchise in 2009 for $4 billion.
The permits Disney has already obviously acquired because, as mentioned, construction is currently underway, assess the value of the work thus far at over $14 million.
Specific details of the permits are sparse to this point, with Disney remaining quite mum on the details but we do know that the permits include construction for bathroom facilities, a microbrewery, a meet-and-greet location, behind the scenes facilities and a massive 2,071-square-foot merchandise outlet with three attached canopies.
Construction walls are already up in the area and work is underway by none other than Stark Industries of course.
Avengers Campus in Hong Kong Disneyland is set to open in 2023. Marvel attractions are also under construction at Disney Studios Park Paris and Epcot at Walt Disney World. Those are expected to open in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
More details can be viewed HERE regarding what exactly will be coming to Avengers Campus in Disneyland.
Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
