We’ve got something big coming you way. You heard it here first folks. The. Best. Ice Cream. On. Disney. Property. can be found at Ample Hills Creamery on the Boardwalk and we are going to give you a full review right now.
Ample Hills is located on The Boardwalk just before ESPN Zone when headed from The Boardwalk Resort toward Epcot, just past Boardwalk Bakery. Just head towards the line and the smell of ice cream deliciousness and waffle cones, you can’t miss it.
All in the name of research, we of course had to sample the flight in order to get a proper and honest review for you so we took one for the team and got seven, yes seven scoops of different ice cream.
This creamery is so adorable. It is brightly colored with white walls and beautiful pastel and bright colored paintings on the wall, one painting even depicting a castle!
Adorable farm animals deck the walls and a pig in a blazer lays out the ordering flowchart.
You will also find a cow, a pig and a chicken taking a ride on a surrey bike just like the ones you can rent at the Boardwalk.
You know we are (usually) all about over the top here at For Love of The Mouse and this is no exception. We are over the moon about these tasty, unique and postively delectable ice cream flavors such as Oatmeal Lace, Ooey Gooey Butter Cake and Cotton Candy.
There are a number of ways to get your ice cream fix here at Ample Hills Creamery. You can build your own sundae which includes either a brownie or ooey gooey butter cake, ice cream, hot fudge or caramel, whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry.
You can get a single or double scoop in a cup or a cone and get it plain or add caramel or fudge, whipped cream or sprinkles.
You can get a float with any flavor.
Ice cream sandwiches are available where guests can get their choice of flavor stuffed between two chocolate chip cookies.
Or you can do a flight. A flight of ice cream is six small scoops of ice cream in a little diveted bowl that keeps the flavors seperate. The full six scoops equals about 2 to 2.5 regular scoops but you get to choose six different flavors.
I ordered one single scoop and I got the Sally Sells Seashells which is a delicious orange marshmallow ice cream and salted chocolate sea shells. I loved the ice cream. It definitely tasted like marshmallow and also like orange so like an orange creamsicle. The only thing that I wasn’t a fan of was the chocolate but I don’t like salted chocolate. I ordered it for the ice cream so I was happy with my decision.
Bryson orderd the flight and loved each and every one of his six flavors.
His favorite was the baked and unbaked which was their version of Ben and Jerry’s Half Baked but on steroids. This was vanilla ice cream with pieces of housemade chocolate chip cookies and brown butter cookie dough.
My favorite that he ordered was the Ooey Gooey Butter Cake. This vanilla ice cream was made with cream cheese which made it the most unique and delicious vanilla ice cream I have ever tasted. It is then finished with massive chunks of ooey gooey butter cake.
He also tried the BP Wins the Cup which is one of their most popular flavors because it has, of course, peanut butter cups. This is a vanilla ice cream with peanut butter and chocolate flakes and housemade peanut butter cups.
Chocolate Milk and Cookies was the fourth flavor. This was chocolate ice cream with oreos. A classic. This was a delicious blend of rich chocolate and delicious oreos, definitely over the top.
Cookie Au Lait was a creamy coffee ice cream with chunks of Back to Nature sand cookies. This was a mild coffee flavor, nothing overpowering but he couldn’t really taste the sandwich cookie.
Peppermint Patty was a cool and refreshing peppermint ice cream with flakes of dark chocolate and housemade peppermint patties. The peppermint flavor was not too strong but defintely refreshing and the dark chocolate really complimented it.
The line moved quickly and they let you taste as many flavors as you wanted. I would definitely recommed the flight especially if it is your first time trying Ample Hills. It is certainly big enough to split and if you are an ice cream lover to tackle all on your own.
This ice cream is delicious and creamy and rich. I have never tasted ice cream that tastes so high quality and out of this world as at Ample Hills Creamery. I’m going to go out on a limb and even say, it blows Beaches and Cream out of the water, out of the ocean even.
Beaches and Cream for the experience and Ample Hills for the ice cream.
Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
