One of Disney’s most beloved parades has been retired but is returning to Disneyland for a limited time engagement beginning on August 2.
The Main Street Electrical Parade which features over 600,000 electronically controled LED lights on floats as well as live actors all choreographed to a synchronized soundtrack is a beloved nighttime tradition in Disney for almost 47 years.
The original parade was in Disneyland from 1972-1996, was brought back in 2017 and will again make an appearance in 2019.
Disney World had a version of this pageant of light and sound from 1977-2016, though there were several long times when the parade was not around.
Versions of the parade have been found in both Tokyo Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland.
The parade will be brought back to Disneyland on August 2 and will run through September 30, 2019.
Disney Parks Blog has announced that Disney will live stream the return of this much loved event beginning at 8:50 pm PT on August 2 on Disney Parks Blog.
