Surprise! We’re going to Disney World!
We decided to plan a somewhat last minute trip to Walt Disney World to celebrate our two year wedding anniversary but of course, I needed to pick up a few things before we went and I am so excited about all of the amazing items I purchased from some great small shops and we got some practical items as well that we think are going to be game changers for us in Walt Disney World. I can’t wait to share it all with you so let’s get started.
We also have a vlog out with these items to be sure to check that out to see most of this stuff in real life.
From Lake Buena Visitors, a newer small shop that we discovered over on Instagram, we purchased our matching shirts for this trip. Bryson actually picked these out but they have a really unique selection of Disney inspired items to choose from highlighting some of our favorite Disney attractions, films and themes. Bryson picked out these gorgeous chalky mint t shirts for both of us with light blue and peach lettering inspired by Splash Mountain over in Magic Kingdom.
From Le Bownitte Boutique over on Etsy, I purchased her amazing UP! Ears. I actually received these ears the day before we left for our trip and I wasn’t sure they would arrive in time for this trip but I am so thrilled that they did. These sequin ears have an aqua blue on one ear and a copper one the other. I love the details of these ears and they are the first ears that I have purchased from her and I am so pleased with the quality of these ears. They look exactly like they looked in the photo and I am so excited to wear them to Animal Kingdom where they currently have a lot of UP! Activities including the UP! A Great Bird Adventure show, a meet and greet with some of your favorite characters and Kevin is wandering around the park as well.
To go with my UP! Ears, I purchased this screen printed white t shirt from Simply Crafty 2010 on Etsy. This is one of the best quality shirts that I have ever purchased from a small shop and I am so in love it with. It is a cap sleeved white t shirt that is so soft and so lightweight. It will be perfect for Disney and everyday. The colors are amazon on this shirt as well and it has all the different characters and symbol from UP! That I love. I will absolutely be purchasing from this shop again.
From Neverland Mermaid Designs over on Etsy, I purchased these creative and adorable Mickey popcorn bucket ears. I saw these on an Instagram post she made and I knew that I had to have them. You can customize these ears with your choice of popcorn bucket colors. She has purple, yellow, blue and red. They are a soft velvet and then she puts the Mickey decal on the bucket, just like in the parks. The look is completed with pieces of “popcorn” dotted around the ears and the bow and a popcorn inspired bow! You know, I love unique, over the top ears and these are certainly that! I cannot wait to wear them in the parks.
Sticking with ears, we are headed to Villains After Hours on this trip and we are so excited about it. We went to the regular After Hours event at Magic Kingdom last year and it was one of the most amazing experiences ever. It was certainly worth the extra price in our opinion to be able to hop onto all of our favorite attractions with little to no wait and have the park as empty as it was. This particular event has been receiving mixed reviews from guests but we are excited to experience it and of course I had to pick up some ears for the occasion.
From Creations With Love, one of my go to ear makers, I picked up these villains inspired ears that will be perfect for the evening. Her ears are durable, unique and always well made. The detail work is done with foam pieces and she always puts great details and touches on the ears to make them perfect.
From Happy Tops on Etsy, I picked up this simple tank top. Perfect for the hot and humid Orlando summer, this tank top is light and airy and has a cute little white vinyl decal of Mickey. Simple, cute, stylish. Perfect!
Over on IBBBowtique on Etsy, I picked up an ear holder! I have been seeing these on Instagram lately and I thought it would be a great idea to get one so that on attractions and during times I take my ears off, I wouldn’t have to stuff the ears into my bag and possibly get them all scrunched up. I found this super cute Starbucks inspired ear holder. I am really excited for this and think it will be a game changer for my backpack and ear storage situation at Disney.
It is a durable holder with a little snap that goes around the bow to keep the ears in place. A simple keychain type clasp goes through one of the zipper pulls on my backpack. The one thing I will say is that because I tend to wear ears with larger than normal bows, I will need to get a second one with a larger button situation to go around the bows because my larger bow ears won’t fit.
We got two awesome purchases from Amazon before this trip.
We purchased a package of four silicone reusable straws that each came with a plastic holder and a brush to clean the straw. Disney recently moved to paper straws in order to be more environmentally aware and reduce plastic and we are all for the move to eliminate plastic straws. However, the paper ones leave something to be desired. These silicone straws were the perfect solution and were only around $7.99 for a pack of four. They take up very little space in our park backpack and are a new must have for every trip.
My other Amazon purchase was a travel makeup case. I had gone back and forth about buying one for several months and during Prime Days one went on a great sale and I finally bit the bullet and got one. For less than $20, this really helps me to keep my keep my makeup in order.
The compartments on the inside are moveable which is perfect to fit different sized products. There is also a place for brushes and two larger areas that work great for palettes.
I was able to fit all of my makeup for our trip into the case and it works so much better than a makeup bag because it is hard sided which helps to product the products even in checked luggage when your bags are tossed around like rag dolls.
Be sure to check out all of the amazing shops and items listed to see what you need for your next trip to the magic.
Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
