Lots of news out of Epcot as we prepare for the massive overhaul of this classic park. Construction is already underway in the transportation and entrance areas and several projects are currently under construction to open in time for the parks 40th Anniversary in 2022.
News broke that much of future world would be demolished before the end of 2019 with other spaces being completely re-imagineered. One of those spaces is the character spot located in the breezeway between Starbucks and the Land Pavilion. This spot sees character meet and greets like Mickey and his best pals, Baymax, Joy and Sadness from Inside Out and more.
Disney has announced relocation spots for these and other characters as construction continues to get underway.
Mickey Mouse and his pal Goofy will temporarily be relocated to Innoventions West before Mickey heads over to the Imagination! Pavilion and Goofy moves to an yet to be disclosed location while Minnie will venture into the World Showcase Gazebo. Daisy will move over to The American Adventure Pavilion for her meet and greet and Goofy will be moved as well but a specific location has yet to be determined.
Joy and Sadness will continue their meet and greet though in a location to be determined and everyone’s favorite honey loving bear will be returning to the United Kingdom pavilion in World Showcase. Winnie the Pooh’s meet and greet location will be inside Christopher Robin’s bedroom and will begin in September 2019.
It is unknown at this time what will become of the Baymax Meet and Greet or if he will still be available to meet at Epcot. Ba la la la la la la.
Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
