It’s about that time y’all! It is time to start talking Food and Wine and Disney is already rolling out morsels of information regarding new kitchens and experiences that will debut at this year’s festival and we have to say, these football fans are pretty excited about one particular announcement.
Disney has just announced a new Tailgate Tasting that will be hosted by ESPN’s Monday Night Football! This all american good time will be available on select Sundays beginning on September and running through November 17. The 45-minute experience will match up everyone’s favorite tailgate treats with beverage tastings that are inspired by the pro teams from the cities playing on Monday night football! Get those grills ready and those beers on ice because you are going to learn how to take your next tailgate to the next level!
Three new kitchens have also been added to this year’s Food and Wine Festival which opens over at Epcot on August 29. We think something else might be opening that day too but we can’t quite put our finger on what in the galaxy it might be.
Brand new this year is The Alps Marketplace where guests will delight in the chilly temps of Orlando (insert sarcasm here) while diving into warm Raclette Swiss cheese served with baby potatoes, cornichons and baquette or get their comfort food fix with venison stew served with crushed potatoes. Wash it all down with a frozen rose and you have yourselves the perfect ending to a day on the slopes or a scorching day in the Florida sun.
More cheese! Emile’s Fromage Montage is a sample of cheese dishes from all over the Global Marktplaces of Food and Wine Festival. These dishes will served in “inventive ways” according to Disney Parks Blog.
Guests can purchase any five cheese dishes listed on their Festival Passport and collact stamps for each dish. Once five are collected, bring the stamped passport over to the brand new Appleseed Orchard for a variety of apple inspired libations that can be paired with charcuterie and even more cheese.
The Appleseed Orchard Marketplace will be located in the Canada pailion next to Le Cellier, the signature restaurant in Canada. This stop will feature, as mentioned above, apple inspired beverages such as ciders, beers and wines and will also include light snacks to pair with your harvest selection. Kids or adults alike can also imbibe in the non-alcoholic Frozen Apple Pie drink.
We can’t wait for all the new and old dishes of the International Food and Wine Festival. This is the 24th year of the exciting and entertaining feast for the senses and we’re sure Disney has even more yummy surprises up their sleeve to delight and indulge our taste buds.
