It’s been six years since the original Frozen was released in theaters, the 2013 musical animated film, was a story derived from Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale “The Snow Queen” and it was an instant hit in and beyond the Disney community. The icy film followed two orphaned girls, one a literal ice queen on their journey to find themselves and save their village.

Comedy and drama mingled in the hit with iconic characters like Olaf, Sven, Kristoff and of course everyone’s favorite, Wandering Oaken, oh and Anna and Elsa. Now, the world is waiting with bated breath for the new film to be released on November 22, 2019.

Here is what we know about Frozen 2 thus far. The sisters along with their friends are once again venturing outside of Arendelle. The two are seeking answers to Elsa’s extraordinary freezing abilities.

Anna, who is again voiced by Kristen Bell and Elsa again voiced by Idina Menzel, journey into the unknown North, far beyond Arendelle, because their kingdom is once again in danger.

“Elsa, the past is not what it seems,” Kristoff’s troll pal says. “You must find the truth. Go North, across the enchanted land and into the unknown. But be careful, we have always feared Elsa’s powers were too much for this world. Now, we must hope they are enough.”

A new, brief story description tells us that the answer to why Elsa possesses her powers  “is calling her and threatening her kingdom.” A  water horse that we see in the trailer is described as “a mythical water spirit that takes the form of a horse” and “uses the power of the ocean to guard the secrets of the forest.”

Jennifer Lee, co-Director for both Frozen films, has promised that Frozen 2 will “bigger, more epic” than the first and goes on to say, ““We have a new song that I think is an evolution, We’ve been working with them for two years… and I love it.”

For the second time in forever, fans will journey with Anna and Elsa in a musical adventure. Get your vocal chords ready because we are hoping we can belt out this new tune like we still do for “Let it go”.
