We have even more holiday news coming out of Walt Disney World today. With the holiday season still half a year away, it’s hard to comprehend Christmas carols and decking the halls but that is exactly what we are doing while we sit by the pool with a nice pina colada and our SPF 50 (okay 15).
Earlier today, Disney announced that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party would be getting a brand new holiday spectacular fireworks show this year called Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show and we have already received news of other exciting things for this year’s Magic Kingdom Christmas extra ticketed event.
Now, we have received word that one of our personal favorite holiday events at Walt Disney World is also in the works. Epcot’s Candlelight Processional is the biblical story of Jesus complete with a full orchestra and choir as told by a celebrity narrator.
Several of the celebrity narrator’s for this year’s Candlelight Processional have been announced:
- Whoopi Goldberg – 12/6-12/7
- Pat Sajak – 12/16-12/18
- Steven Curtis Chapman – 12/22-12/24
- Edward James Olmos – 12/25-12/26
We are waiting with baited breath to see if favorites like Trace Atkins, Neil Patrick Harris and others will also be confirmed.
If you have never experienced this event, it is a true holiday extravaganza and an amazing event. We highly recommend this event to kick off your holiday season. There is also a dining package associated with the event that we recommend for some of the more popular narrators as the stand by line for those folks can begin up to 6 hours prior to the show.
According to Disney Parks Blog, The Candlelight Processional is performed three times per night at 5:00, 6:45 and 8:15 p.m., and guaranteed seating is available by booking a breakfast, lunch or dinner Candlelight Processional Dining Package at select Epcot eateries. Availability is limited and advance reservations are highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit. Bookings for Candlelight Processional Dining Packages will begin on July 3.
If you are an annual passholder and/or a DVC member, those guests will be able to accesss exclusive early booking for Candlelight Processional on July 2. Annual Passholders should call 407-WDW-DINE while DVC Members can contact DVC Member Services at 800-800-9800.
We can’t speak highly enough of this amazing event and if you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World this holiday season it should absolutely be on your must do list. Check out our vlog from our 2018 Holiday trip and Day 1 at Epcot and Candlelight Processional!
