Where you shop in the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge coming to Disneyland will depend on whether you favor the light side of the Force, lean to the dark side or prefer to keep you options open.
Travelers will have the option to pick a side and dress the part. Are you one with the First Order? A Resistance loyalist? Or possibly a rogue scoundrel? Your allegiance will determine where you shop for clothing, accessories and supplies in the Black Spire Outpost village on the planet of Batuu.
Those loyal to the good guys will find everything they need at Resistance Supply. Bad guy sympathizers will gravitate to First Order Cargo. Scoundrels and villagers will head to Black Spire Outfitters.
Because of Disneyland’s costume policy, guests over the age of 13 will not be able to wear some items of Star Wars clothing while in the park. We highly recommend guests take a gander at that policy before outfitting themselves for they Batuu adventure so as not to be turned away or forced to purchase new items that fit within the policy once at the parks.
Galaxy’s Edge apparel shops will sell clothing inspired by movie wardrobe pieces to help visitors live their own immersive Star Wars story. Disney’s merchandise team worked closely with Lucasfilm’s archives division to turn costumes from the “Star Wars” cinematic universe into authentic-looking clothing.
First Order troops arrived in Black Spire Outpost a few weeks ago in search of Resistance soldiers rumored to be hiding in the forest next to the village, according to the backstory created for the land.
How you dress says a lot about which side of the conflict you’re on. Let’s take a closer look at the three clothiers in Black Spire Outpost.
A never before seen First Order TIE fighter will serve as the entry marque for First Order Cargo. A stark gray interior bathed in eerie blue glow from stark overhead lighting. Red flags bearing the First Order insignia hang from the ceiling. An intimidating stormtrooper with his rifle at the ready stands guard near the front of the store so watch yourself.
The store will be run by First Order troops from the 709 Legion, also known as the Red Fury. The shop doubles as a propaganda outpost where the First Order will try to win the hearts and minds of locals in Black Spire Outpost.
Storm trooper helmets, Kylo Ren masks and First Order blasters are all available for purchase here. First Order recruitment gear and supplies such as helmets, armor, pins, patches, caps, model ships and memorabilia will also be available for purchase.
In their efforts to defeat the First Order, the Resistance has temporarily set up shop in an abandoned, ancient base encircled by forests, mountains, and rivers on the outskirts of Black Spire Outpost. Throughout the land in both parks, fans may see some familiar faces, including Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, BB-8, and Chewbacca—and even find themselves in a face-off with the First Order.
Inside Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities, travelers will find a selection of mysterious and rare items for sale representing different eras of the Star Wars galaxy, including ancient Jedi and Sith artifacts, holocrons and lightsabers. As you explore, be on the lookout for Dok at his desk, checking his inventory, taking calls, and barking orders.
The Creature Stall will find some fascinating and unusual beasts from all across the galaxy, ranging from the friendly characters like porgs and tauntauns (so cute) to the not-so-friendly characters like rathtars and wampas. You will also find the Toydarian Toymaker stall which offers character plushes as well as wooden and tin toys from around the galaxy.
Resistance Supply is a “makeshift” resource location at the Resistance’s hidden command post, selling badges, hats, pins, and other accessories to help guests feel like part of the cause. On the flip side, First Order Cargo is a temporary storage dock located near the market. Easily identified by a never-before-seen First Order TIE echelon, it gives interstellar tourists a chance to pledge their loyalty to the First Order by purchasing caps, gear, model ships, pins, and more.
Everything created for purchase in Batuu was created specifically for Galaxy’s Edge as Disney is creating a unique shopping experience for travelers to Batuu.
Disney announced specialty Coca-Cola bottles available only in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. There will be four bottles in total, three being little soda orbs, and the fourth being a pretty standard Dasani bottle.
“When we first approached Coca-Cola and shared the idea of bringing their products into the Star Wars galaxy in a new and unique way, they immediately saw the opportunity to give our guests the refreshing drinks they love in a way that maintained the authenticity of the story,” said Scott Trowbridge, portfolio creative executive and studio leader, Walt Disney Imagineering.
You’ll also notice the strange writing on the label which is written in Aurebesh text, one of the most commonly used alphabets in the Star Wars universe. Be sure to check that out for a unique drinking souvenir and a fun detail of being in Galaxy’s Edge.
