Of course, Disney couldn’t pass up the opportunity for some Star Wars themed headbands right! We expect that this won’t be the only version we see what this BB-8 headband is awesome. The headband will sell for $29.99 and is the perfect Batuu accessory. What’s so cool about this BB-8 headband? He Talks! That’s right! Guests can have their own little BB-8 on their head beeping and booping as you walk through Batuu. Motion sensors are embedded within the headband and he will keep you company as your adorable little companion as you experience Galaxy’ Edge.
We have also learned that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge merchandise will not just be available in Galaxy’s Edge. Merchandise will also be available for those without a Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge reservation.
Important to remember is that guests who want to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge from May 31 to June 23 must have valid theme park admission and a reservation to visit the land. Reservations are available free of charge but must be made through Disney.
There is no standby line to get into the land. General reservations are not available at this time on Disneyland.com; you can still get a Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge reservation by staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels during that time period if any are available. Once you have your reservation, there is no need to arrive early and line up. You may check in two hours prior to your reservation start time. For unique Galaxy’s Edge and Star Wars items, Tomorrowland in Disneyland park will be the place to go. Merchandise will be available in the upper level of Star Wars Launch Bay. A variety of Limited Edition, Limited Release, and Annual Passport pins and gear will be available for purchase.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge specific merchandise will be found at the Emporium, the upper level of Star Wars Launch Bay, Star Trader, and Pooh Corner in Disneyland park; Elias & Co. in Disney California Adventure park; World of Disney in the Downtown Disney District; and shops at the Disneyland Hotel.
For Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Opening Day merchandise, including AP items, the best selection will be at the Emporium, the upper level of Star Wars Launch Bay, Star Trader, or Pooh Corner in Disneyland.
Annual Passholders: Additional AP items can be found at the Emporium, the upper level of Star Wars Launch Bay, Star Trader, and Pooh Corner in Disneyland park; Elias & Co. and Trolley Treats in Disney California Adventure park; World of Disney in the Downtown Disney District; and shops at the Disneyland Hotel.
Think you can rope drop and get in there for some of your favorite merchandise? Think again. Disney has announced that lines for merchandise will start no earlier than 2 am on May 31. Parking lots will open at midnight and you better believe that the lines will be long.
In terms of merchandise experiences, there are several that are only available within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Be sure to check out our blog post HERE for all that information!
Here are some examples of specific merchandise and prices that you will fine (if available) when you visit Galaxy’s Edge.
the build-your-own light saber experience will be available for $199.99. This experience is limited to 14 guests at a time and resrvations are required until further notice. Guests will get around 20 minutes to complete the process and don’t think that you can run late and still get your slot. Disney has stated that time slots will be enforced so be sure to be on time.
The build your own droid experience is $99.99 and there are several options for that. The DJ R-3X which is a remote-controlled toy that talks, rolls and plays music wirelessly is $149.99.
For $59.99 you can get your very own C-3PO toy that cries “What’s going on?” when you rip his head off is awesome but we are concerned why people would rip his head off in the first place.
Other items include an Endor collectible souvenir mug for $42 and a Porg collectible souvenir mug for $32. Both mugs will be available at Oga’s Cantina.
Kowakian Monkey Lizards will be available (think Banshee’s from Pandora). These little creatures can be purchased inside Batuu and are available in a couple of different colors and they sit on your shoulders.
Stuffed porgs, Tauntauns and Wampas will also be available for purchase.
Board games, wooden toys, tin toys, stuffed toys, clothing, pins and so much more. There is something for everyone coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge so we hope you have been saving up your allowance.
Everything found within Galaxy’s Edge was created specifically for Galaxy’s Edge. As Brad Schoeneberg, director, Merchandise Strategy & New Park Experience Development, Walt Disney World Resort says, “We’re giving today’s consumers an experience only we can deliver.”
Whether you are in Galaxy’s Edge or fighting crowds in one of the many merchandise locations located outside the land, be prepared for crowds and lines but also be prepared for amazing, unique merchandise as only Disney can do.
