Soarin’ Over California will be returning for a limited time onto to Disney California Adventure this summer in an attempt to spread crowds out a bit during the opening months of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
The attraction will return for one month and one month only, from June 1st to the 30th.
Soarin’ uses a mechanical lift system to simulate “soaring” over the landscapes being projected onto the concave 80 foot 180-degree dome screen. Guests feel as though they are hang gliding over California (or currently the world).
Soarin’ Over California was four minutes and fifty one seconds, includes scenes such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Lake Tahoe, Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe and Yosemite Falls and includes scents like pine, sagebrush, citrus scents and ocean air.
The original Soarin’ Over California played from 2011 to 2016 when it was replaced with Soarin’ Around the World. Unlike Soarin’ Around the World, the imagery from Soarin’ Over California was not computer generated for the most part and remained incredibly popular until it was changed in 2016.
There are believed to be three or four hidden Mickey’s within Soarin’ Over California! If you know where they are send us a direct message on our Instagram or comment below!
At this time, there has been no announcement from Disney regarding the Soarin’ attraction in Walt Disney World at Epcot.
Thank you for stopping by and for the love of the mouse, never forget, that it all started with a mouse.
