We are on the verge of a trip home and it will be our first trip to Flower and Garden for 2019! Flower and Garden is one of, if not my favorite festival and I am so excited to experience not only the food but the gorgeous floral decorations from the bright colors to the detailed topiaries.
Today, we are talking food though. These are the top ten things I cannot wait to try at the 2019 Flower and Garden Festival.
These are in no particular order but my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Important to note is that most items at the festival are available on the Disney Dining Plan. Many of the items are eligible to be used as a Disney Dining Plan snack credit. Be sure to look for the indicator symbol so you know if your selections are eligible for the dining plan if that applies to you.
From Northern Bloom which is the Canada kitchen for the Flower and Garden Festival houses two of my top must haves for the 2019 Flower and Garden Festival. I am excited to try the Northern BloomBeef Tenderloin Tips, with a mushroom bordelaise sauce, whipped potatoes with garden vegetables. This dish is available for $6.75.
Also from Northern Bloom, I am excited to try the Griddled Maple Pound Cake which is served with a warm peach compote and a unique sweet corn gelato featuring Burton’s maple syrup. This item is available for $4.50. Both items indicated here are eligible to be used as a Disney Dining Plan snack credit.
Several of my favorite items from the 2018 festival are back this year and I can’t wait to experience them again. Over at La Isla Fresca, the Tropical Mousse Cake is a definite must have for me. This treat has layers of passion fruit cake (passion fruit is my favorite food of all time), coconut mousse and a tropical fruit glaze. The dish is also served with fresh pineapple. Available for $4.25 this dish is eligible to be used as a Disney Dining Plan snack credit.
The Honey Beestro is a returning this year as well and bringing Honey Tandoori Chicken Flatbread back again for the second year. This flatbread dish has white cheddar cheese, charred vegetables, clover honey sour cream and micro citrus greens. For $5.50 or a snack credit on the dining plan, this is a steal of a deal for a tasty dish.
The Honey Beestro Local Wildflower Honey-mascarpone Cheesecake with Orange Blossom Honey Ice Cream garnished with Fennel Pollen Meringue Kisses and Petite Lavender Shoots (V) (KA) – $5.00, DDP Snack Eligible
Jardin de Fiestas is Mexico’s kitchen and always a popular option. Here we are going to get a tasty, summery drink called Rosé Sangria. Withers Rosé wine, tequila blanco, elderflower and ginger Liqueur, pineapple, cactus pear and ginger juices make up this fruity and delicious sounding drink option. This drink is a bit steep at $11.75 and is not eligible on the dining plan as alcoholic drinks are not eligible on the dining plan at Epcot festivals.
Florida Fresh is located just east of the France pavilion and was my hands down favorite booth from 2018. Both of my faves are back again and I will hopefully be making several stops here for my two favorites. The Spicy Blackened Shrimp and Cheddar Cheese Grits which is served with a brown gravy and a corn relish. with Brown Gravy and Local Sweet Corn Relish. This burst of flavor is available for $7.00 and is eligible on the dining plan as a snack credit option. – $7.00, DDP Snack Eligible
I did not try but am looking forward to doing so the Florida Fresh Key Lime Tart with Toasted Meringue. It was available last year but we did not try it. I absolutely adore key lime anything and look forward to a burst of tart sweetness with this sweet treat. At $4.50 or a snack credit on the dining plan, this is a great option for a refreshing treat.
Also at Florida Fresh was my favorite sparkling wine selection and there were a lot last year and are again many options this year as well. The Florida Orange Groves Winery Sparkling Key Lime Wine was out of this world. I loved it and had several over the course of the festival. This is a local sparkling wine from St Petersburg, FL and is $11.75.
Something I have not yet tried but sounds like summer in a glass is ALSO at Florida Fresh and is the Watermelon Cucumber Slushy with Gin. I love watermelon and the cool smooth taste of cucumber as an accent to it. For $11.75 this summery goodness can be yours.
Those are the top ten things that I am excited to try at this years 2019 Flower and Garden Festival. The festival has been running since March 6 and concludes on June 3.
