It’s really not so scary. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party is the highlight of many Disney fans year and it looks like one of the most exciting and anticipated aspects of the night is getting an upgrade.
The fireworks spectacular that is a part of this very special extra ticketed event has been around for fourteen years but Disney has just announced that a brand new fireworks show will be debuting at the 2019 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party which beging on August 16 (we know, we know, it’s still summer) and runs through Halloween night on select nights at Magic Kingdom.
The new fireworks show will feature state-of-the-art projections and effects on Cinderella’s Castle and will also include lasers and of course those fireworks! This new show will feature everyone’s favorite friends, Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy and guests will tag along on their trick or treat adventures. According to Disney, “Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy – find themselves drawn into a mysterious haunted house. The journey takes them from one room of the house to another, encountering dancing skeletons, waltzing ghosts and a whole series of troublemaking Disney villains.”
This has me over the moon with excitement as one of my absolute favorite Disney movies growing up was the 80’s classic (because I’m an 80’s baby) Disney’s Halloween Treat which used to play every single Halloween night on the Disney channel and we would watch as we sorted out our candy. It was such a memory for me so I have high hopes that this may transport me back to my childhood and that Disney will be incorporating old school Disney magic in with the new. We will have to wait until August 16 to see!
The favorite show, Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, will also be returning to the castle stage this year along with Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade which is a can’t miss treat!
Trick-or-treating throughout the park is a favorite for many as you take your bag to various locations throughout Magic Kingdom for handfuls of delicious name brand candy favorites.
Disney has also announced a Frontierland Costume Promenade to take place in Frontierland this year featuring prospector Cactus-Flower Cate. The Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam will be returning with the kids favorites Doc McStuffins, Vampirina and more.
Last but certainly not least, Disney has announced that attraction enhancements will again be featured at this years events though specific details have not been released yet. Stay tuned for those.
For 2018, enhancements were brought to the Mad Tea Party, Space Mountain and Pirates of the Caribbean.
